Today I took my oldest daughter to school for her first day in middle school. She seemed so small compared to everyone else and I didn't want to leave her at the door (she wouldn't let me go any farther). She went to the same elementary school for 7 yrs (Pre-k thru 5th gr) so this is a big adjustment for her and me. I think she is handling it better than me though. Anyone else have these problems and how can you not worry so much. :confused3

I feel your pain. My dd is going into middle school this year. She is only going into 5th though(our middle is 5-8) So I am ready to pass out. She seems so tiny. But thankfully her older brother is going into 8th so he'll be there to keep an eye on her.

She'll be home soon.

Oh, big hugs.

My youngest is starting Kindergarten in 2 weeks. This will be the first time in 13yrs that I have been alone. I am not looking forward to it.
School this year: DD5- K, DD8- 4th, DS10-6th, DS12- 7th, and DS13-8th grade.
I for one am not in a hurry for them to get back.......waking up earlier, homework, projects, homework, all the sports(fun), homework. Did I mention the homework?

(Although, DD5 has been a bit sassy and testing the limits. I think its God's way of helping me not miss her so much.)

Hang in there mom!!! I know it's hard but she'll do just fine.

I've BTDT and I'm not sure it gets any easier per se -- I'm always a little hesitant on the first day of every year (even this year when I have a 5th grader so it's his last year at the school & I'm nervous about it!).

My DD really did seem like a small one when she went in 6th grade (considering she's in the 10% in height for her age -- she really WAS small ;) ). I had to go send her on the "big bad bus" her first day off to 6th grade too, she had never ridden it before.

She'll be ok. I took my kids to school today The oldest hasnt been in 4 years. I have been homeschooling so my younger ones have never been to school. They are in 3rd,
5th&7th. I worry the younger ones will argue. Dh called and asked what I am doing home alone. I told hime I watched a "bad" movie. I'm going to join a gym next week so I'll have something to do when I'm not helping at school.

Find a way to take your mind off of the long hours of today. I guess these boards can take up hours. Treat yourself to lunch or a walk in the park. Even your regular errands will help pass the time until the bell rings.
