I'm so sorry. Your post made me cry...

We don't have dogs, but anyone losing a beloved pet can relate.

Our bird died 3 yrs ago and left a big gap in our family. They really contribute more than we realize to our lives.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's really hard when it comes as such a shock. Several years ago I lost a Chihuahua suddenly. I put her and my beagle in "their" room that night for bed. The next morning I came through, opened the bedroom door like I always did, and called them to go out. The beagle came to the back door, but the Chihuahua didn't.

I went back into the living room to find her leaned against the recliner. Her back legs weren't working right. The poor thing must have dragged herself into the living room when I called her.

I told my daughter to take Puddin to the vet then so she could be there when they opened (I was going to work). We got dressed immediately, but when I handed her to my DD, Puddin started to bleed out of her mouth. I told DD to come on, and we ran for the car. We were halfway to the vet when Puddin died. The vet said it may have been an aneurysm.

It was such a shock and so, so hard.

Again, I'm really sorry for your situation. I know that losing your dog and $2000 in one unexpected swoop has got to be a shock.

so sorry for your loss. we had to put our almost 12 year old springer spaniel to sleep a week ago tomorrow. It breaks my heart. she most likely had cancer also.

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. We had to have one of our dogs put down about three weeks ago.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.

We had to put our Bonnie down last April - she was 18. I've worked nights for a long time and she was always there every night when I came home, waiting by the back door, wagging her tail - always happy to see me. She is missed.

Well, we were pretty sure we weren't going to be able to do Disney this summer and decided to start the process for credit counseling. Then came a sudden, sad budget buster. We had to put our beloved dog, Max to sleep. Long story short, he was fine on Monday morning when we went to work/school and was vomiting blood by Monday afternoon and had purple splotches under his fur. Fast forward to Tuesday nite, after a day in the special Animal Hospital (our vet did all they could do there) and he is worse, covered in purple splotches, bleeding out all orifices, platelet count almost non-existent, severely anemic, and jaundiced. Animal hospital said it was mostly likely a fast acting cancer. I know we made the right decision, but the whole process cost close to $2000. Now we are worse in debt and terribly sad. Max was a good dog who wore his Mickey Mouse collar with pride! Our other dog is actually moping around the house and constantly looking out the window for Max! I guess it just really sucks to add this to the credit counseling issue and then really have it hit home that we can't visit "the World" this year, which we were really looking forward to. Sorry, just had to vent

Oh I am sooooo sorry. I had never had a dog until 2 years ago (Max) Now I understand why people love thier pets sooooooo much. If you talk to the Vet he may be able to reduce the bill a bit. Hugs

We had to put 2 dogs down within 2 months of each other. It's so hard. After 2 1/2 years, we've worked up the courage to get another dog - we'll get him or her in May (long haired dashchund). It took me that long to grieve.
