:sad1: As this is our first trip, I was determined to get an ADR for CRT for breakfast on our first day in the parks (Sept 6). I thought it would be so magical for oldest DD (3) to actually go to the castle first thing upon going to WDW. Alas, everybody else had the same idea, and even though I've been trying for the last two months, there are never enough spots for our group of 5 (DH, MIL, Self, and 2 DDs). I am officially giving up, I think. I have called and tried online several times a day for two months, and nobody seems to be cancelling reservations. I'm really letting it bum me out, even though I know I shouldn't and that she'll have a good time no matter what. I guess this is my first lesson in not allowing my expectations ruin the reality!

Don't give up hope :)

We planned 2 last minute September trips and I was able to get CRT breakfasts at 8:10 for each. We booked them in August and I ended up getting them about 2 weeks before each trip.

Wishing you lots of pixie dust to get the ressies :wizard:

Have you tried to get a table for 6? Their wacky system doesnt recognize tables of 5 I believe I've read here -

and have you tried for lunch?

It really works out well - you tour the MK and just when you have finished, you head to CRT - have a nice relaxing lunch - and then head back to your resort for the afternoon!

Also check for a table of 2 and a table of 3. They don't guarantee that you can sit together, but most often you can. I had a table for 2 and a table for 1 on our last trip and we were seated together.

It's very hard to get into CRT for breakfast, sadly. Some day I will have breakfast in the Castle! LOL!!!

The day that Hurricane Charley came through Orlando, I stopped at CRT to see if somebody may have cancelled. Nope, not one person cancelled.

Keep calling and checking online! Good luck! :)

Keep trying. You never know when something will happen. I have gotten CRT the day before we left before for breakfast (during free dining and the exact week you are going, but before DDP went crazy and cost 2 TS credits to eat there). You never know what might come up.

Don't give up! I am heading to the world on Sept. 11th and just scored a table for 4 today! It's for lunch, but I wanted that or breakfast.

I was also going to suggest trying for a table for 4 and keeping someone out, or making it for 2.

Don't give up hope. Last Sept during free dining I cancelled CRT breakfast @ 8:05am for a party of 13, we decided we were going to skip it that trip and save the 2 credits as we have been there many times. I cancelled it early the morning before just making the 24hrs. Keep trying! :wizard:

Keep trying. Seriously, in June we planned a last minute trip. Started planning one Sunday. Arrived in Orlando the next Sunday. I was practically on the phone with Disney Dining at least 4 times a day during the week of planning trying to get CRT ressies. When I finally got the reservation, I don't know who was happier, me or the CM who got me the ressie. I think it also helped that I was a little open. Since eating at CRT was our priority, I was willing to move other ADRs around to get it, and I told each CM that when I called. I'd have taken breakfast, lunch, or dinner on any of several days.

Have you tried for other days of your vacation and not just your first day? I know you have your heart set on breakfast but lunch is pretty good. One of the advantages of going to lunch is you can hit the attractions early and by the time lunch comes you are in need of a break.

Have an awesome first trip. I promise that Disney is still magical without a meal in the castle.

Why not leave the MIL @ the hotel? Or just take you and your oldest DD?

Taking only your oldest might be a special experience for her. When I was little and went to Disneyland with my family one night on our trip was a special night for just my mother and I. Maybe it could be a treat for being a good big sister.

I think that it might be kind of mean to leave MIL behind. Of course if your DH is anything like mine, he would LOVE to be left out. Maybe you could make it a girl's only meal?

Lunch was wondeful..we did BBB for DD4 at 1230 then lunch at 205. We are a party of 5 too. DD was "properly" dressed to meet Cindy! Check 45,30 days and day before. Thses are the days people most likely will cancel their vacation because their payments are due at 45 days, they can unofficial pay in full at 30 days and you can get a refund at 24 hrs before if you cancel. Good luck. Pixi dust comming your way!

Both great ideas, but if you are going to be doing the fantasyland rope drop rush, you might be better off planning lunch!! Good luck and have a magical first trip/ Just be aware that wdw is completely a whole new ball game than disneyland!

Go online multiple times a day and try parties of 5 and parties of 6. You can put your imaginary No. 6 as a 1 or 2 year old since they dine free. I tried to get 1900 Park Fare dinner on the 90th day out (1st day for reservations) for a party of 5, and had trouble. The CM strongly hinted if we had 6, we would have our choice of times, so we magically grew a 2 year old and got exactly what we wanted. You won't be that lucky with CRT, but you may be able to pick up a cancellation somewhere by trying 6, that you would not get using 5.

There is a Crystal palace breakfast available for that day, breakfast with Pooh Bear with the view of the castle through the window would also be magical.

just a thought.
