Sacrifice MNSSHP so I can fly???

I need some advice.

I have the FTP booked from October 18-25th and I already have tickets purchased for MNSSHP on the 19th. I had planned on driving my DD8 and I from Kentucky (taking two days to drive down and back).

BUT NOW...

Fares from Indianapolis have dropped with Southwest and I can get two nonstop RT tickets for $263.00. But they are only booking through the 24th.....

The FTP is open for October 4-11th and I can definitely swing those dates, but I will, of course, have to forego the party on the 19th. My finances (and my frugality) simply won't allow me to purchase two more tickets when I already have two that I won't use. :(

So, what would you do???

Just hang on to the reservations I have and hope for the best in the way of airline prices (or just drive like I planned)

OR

Go ahead and change everything for the privilege of flying but at the same time missing MNSSHP???

Anybody with words of wisdom???

Thanks!!

Is the FTP available from 10/17- 10/24? Then you could fly and use your MNSSHP tickets. If it's not available you could keep trying, until it came right down to the wire of having to purchase airline tickets or making a payment on FTP.

Try ATA out of Indy. I got $136.00 RT in early October.

If not, The airlines will probably have other specials coming up.

definitely try ATA....I had 119 RT this morning, but I think it has gone backl up since I last checked. It is still very close to the Southwest fares.

Mighty long drive to Indy from Munfordville, though.....

That sounds pretty high to me. I'd wait for a better price.

If you can get airfare cheaper then you might look into selling the MNSSHP tickets.

You might call Disney and see if you can trade in your tickets. Non-exchangeable means they DON'T HAVE to do it. It doesn't mean they can't.

Call Disney to ask about swapping your event tickets. I believe they will allow you to mail back the tickets you are holding and exchange them for the new date. I was allowed to exchange MVMCP tickets a couple of years back, but I did it while on property.

If I went there a lot or planned another MNSSHP return, trip then I may sacrifice it.
Otherwise..... It's pretty good. I would hate to miss it. But if it gains you a lot more park time, it might be worth it.
