Sacramento Hotel help!

I rather like Roseville. There are several fairly nice limited service hotels in Roseville. I've personally stayed at the Courtyard (they have two in Roseville) and Hyatt Place. Other than that, maybe Thunder Valley Hotel and Casino. Not sure if a casino fits your plans, but it's pretty nice and can be affordable on weeknights if you can lay off the gambling.

I worked in the Sacramento area for a bit over half a year and would sometimes go to Roseville. They have a pretty nice shopping mall. There are carpool lanes during the commute hours, so that will help a bit. Traffic isn't really all that bad during the commute hours unless there's an accident.

If you would rather stay near I-5, then maybe Woodland. I've stayed in a few places in Woodland, although it's mostly motels. The Best Western Shadow Inn is maybe one of the nicer motels I've stayed in. It's clean, well maintained, updated regularly, and safe. Some of the other motels in town get poor ratings because of unsavory clientele. However, that's typical of any inexpensive lodging.

The hotels get more expensive as you get closer to Sacramento, and some of the locations might not be that safe. There are plenty of hotels and motels in the area though. I frankly wouldn't stay anyplace close to I-5 in Sacramento except for the area around Old Sac.

That was fast. I live here, but you already booked.:lmao:

Haha! I'd forgotten I had already posted a similar question here (about Sacramento and the area) a few weeks ago but couldn't remember if anyone had responded; they did and gave me great info so I got right onto hotwire.com and booked! Couldn't see anywhere to delete this post so I just edited it instead.

I hope you are booked some place good. Are spending time in the area?

We booked at the Holiday Inn in Elk Grove, had really good reviews. Unfortunately we won't have time for any sight seeing as we are getting in around dinnertime on the Sunday and then leaving first thing on Monday morning for Anaheim.

Elk Grove is good. If it is the one off Laguna , there is a MIMI's restaurant in the parking lot if you want to eat. I lived in Elk Grove. It is in a shopping center with Best Buy , Old Navy , Bed Bath and Beyond. Depending on what time you leave in the morning you will have traffic going through Stockton. If you need something else let me know. There are other restaurants if you don't like MIMI's.

It's on Stockton Blvd so.....no idea really on the location ;-) But if you know it, a restaurant rec would be wonderful, thanks! We're travelling with our two kids, ages 2.5 & 5.

It is E Stockton and Laguna , it is right off the freeway to the right. So when you get off the freeway turn right and the first st is E Stockton and turn right into the shopping center. MIMI's is right on the corner. You have Logans road house on the other end of the parking lot. BJ's is across the street. If you want something less, the next exit up is Elk Grove blvd. If you turn left and go about a mile there is a Denny's on the left hand side. If you need anything from Walmart , it is on Elk Grove blvd to the right. So you are right in the middle of a shopping area where you are at.

That seems like a good choice. I live in Roseville and its going the opposite way!(Although Its a great city).. Elk grove is very nice and since its off the freeway it will be alot easier for you all. Theres not much to see in Elk grove though so its ok you wont have time to sight see..LOL... Have fun!! Its a long and boring drive to disney unfortunately, but its worth it!
