SAB In Jan

We are looking to stay somewhere different in Jan before our PC cruise has anyone done SAB in Jan? Is it heated?

All Disney Resort pools are heated.

It was freezing out when we went to the clambake at Cape May Cafe this week but there were people in SAB. The lifeguards had on jackets and shorts and looked really cold. I couldn't believe people were actually in the water. DH said maybe they were from Alaska, .

We've been to WDW the last 3 MLK weekends and we've had a few days that the kids got into the pool. The year we stayed at BCV, it was warm enough for me to get in.

We have been at WDW the past couple of Januarys, and it was way too cool to go in the pools..not that people didn't, but blue lips and shivering bodies aren't very appealing on kids.

I would not spend extra points or choose a resort in January just for a specific pool because that is the time of year some of them are closed for renovation.

In 9 January vacations, we've had 2 great weather trips where swimming was comfortable.

It depends on the year! Like others have said, I wouldn't base a resort choice solely on being able to swim. January can be 72 or 32 degrees. Stormalong Bay is heated. On our Jan trip this year, there were 2 days I would have considered swimming, but we didn't end up with time for the pool.

We were at Disney in early January back in 2000 for our honeymoon. We spent several nights at Beach Club before taking the Disney Cruise, then cam back for a couple of nights at POFQ.

We were able to use SAB when we were at the Beach club - it was in the lower to mid 70s (we lived in Minnesota at the time, so it was like tropical paradise to us then). Once we got back from the cruise, 4 days after leaving BC, a cold front had blown into town and it was in the 40s as a high. So we couldn't use the pool at all at POFQ.

I'd guess it's going to be hit or miss for you - like maybe if you're there a week, you'll *maybe* have 2-3 possible days to swim unless you're really lucky - and then maybe 3-5 (like PPs have mentioned).
