SAB Big Slide for Fearless 3 yr old

I believe I had read on here previously that they did not allow swim aids for kids going down the big slide at SAB. We were there a couple of weeks ago and I had not expected that my 3 and 5 yr olds would be able to (or want to) go down the big slide. They both wanted to try it and though I told my DH that they couldn't go down with vests, he took them anyway. The life guards didn't have any problem with them wearing life vests as long as they could swim away from the bottom slide area and exit on their own. My 5 yr old DS wanted nothing else to do with it after the first time but my 3 yr old DD rode it about 30 times over the week with her 8 yr old DNephew! I just ran back and forth from entrance to exit to make sure she was ok because I had no desire to go down it (wonder where DS5 gets that from??). Anyway, if the little ones want to try it, life jackets are ok.

This sounds like one of those "depends on the CM working the slide" things. The postings by the slide specify no aids.

I never even noticed the sign! We used the pool quite a bit through the week and never had any question about it. I'm sure there were many different life guards. I did hear the one at the bottom tell folks that they could not catch the kids as they came off the slide. You couldn't wait in that area - they kids would have to swim out of the area on their own.
