I leave for Orlando tomorrow!!! I'm so excited! But I have some last minute questions...

We're bringing our own stroller. Do we need to lock it when we leave it? [Like with a bike lock or something] Has anyone ever had a stroller stolen, or am I being paranoid?

Also, my husband is already in Orlando at a conference, which goes till Friday afternoon. I'll be meeting family there and we'll be going to MGM on Friday. We have 7-day park hoppers, but would rather not use a day for my husband for that Friday when he probably couldn't get there before 4pm. Do they sell any sort of 1/2 day tickets? I've never seen or heard about it...but maybe it's something they don't promote.

Any suggestions would be great! I'll have to leave by noon on Thursday...but I know when I've posted questions here before people have responded quickly. Thank you so much in advance!

I don't know of any 1/2 day tickets.

I've taken 3 rather expensive strollers-MacLaren single ($100+), MacLaren Double ($300+) and Peg Perego Pliko P3 ($275). I've never had a problem. Don't leave anything valuable in the stroller-in fact I would put my diaper needs in a clear zip lock bag so that it was obvious it wasn't anything valuable. I think someone might be tempted to "steal" a stroller for the bag in it hoping the bag might have a camera or something. The CM's do sometimes rearrange the strollers so you might come out of a ride and not find it were you left it. I tied a ribbon that was bright lime green with hot pink flowers to the handle-made it much easier to spot in the great big sea of strollers that suddenly look all the same-and this would help others realize that the stroller isn't theirs too. And this really helps after the CM's have moved your stroller.

Not sure about the 1/2 day ticket thing either. I also traveled with my Maclaren stroller in May and had no problems. I even looked high and low to see if anyone else was locking their strollers, but I never saw one (I know people on Disboards have debated this topic heavily...this was just my personal experience last month). The one thing I did happen to notice is that there were a LOT of expensive strollers at Disney (Pegs, Macs, Ingelasinas, etc) in addition to the Gracos, etc. I can honestly say that I never once felt uncomfortable about leaving my stroller unattended - we even left it for almost two hours at MGM for dinner and it was in the same spot we left it. Again, this is a highly debated topic on this forum and I think you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable. There are people on the boards who have had their strollers stollen, but I think that's the RARE case. The place is FILLED with strollers, but you can always rent one at the park if you feel more comfortable. JMO!!

I have traveled with my favorite PLIKO and never locked it. You do need to be careful if you do lock it as the CM' s move it. Generally speaking you park it at the end of stroller parking and then when you exit an attraction its toward the end of the stroller parking -closer to you. So mark your stroller with a personal bandana and a luggage tag and you are all set.

On the other subject unfortunately I have never heard of a 1/2 day ticket unless you are part of a convention. The good news is the myw tickets are such a good deal that adding an extra day now costs as little as $7 a day so that may be worth your while.

Have a great trip.

I took my own stroller last year and had no problems. I think if you rent a stroller, you have a better chance of some one taking it rather than finding their own.

While I was in Orlando at the beginning of May the resort we were staying at had a ticket option for $44 for after 4pm. You might want to have him check at the counter at his hotel/resort. I believe our resort (Carribe Royale) and the Wyndham Palace had them in their "Disney Shop".

We used to lock our stroller with a little cable ski lock. We'd just lock it to itself (so the wheels won't roll). The CMs could still pick it up and move it, but noone would take it.

I am bringing a lock but am basically gonna use it to lock the two strollers together so we don't have to look all over to get both back. I also have lots of things to decorate my strollers with so they are easier to identify.
