We have several WII games...the kids tell me they're scratched and don't work properly anymore.....(if they wouldn't pile them on top of each other we wouldn't have this problem:sad2:) anyway.....is there any remedy for this???
Has anyone else had this happen...I sure don't want to have to invest in replacing them if I don't have to....thanks again....

depending on the depth of the scratch and sometimes which way it is going, disc doctor has always worked for me. I've heard toothpaste will take out light scratches. I have not tried that, can't say for sure. I guess it is worth a try if they are unplayable anyways.

I have a manual one of these:

If the scratches are deep and go from center to edge, might not even be worth it. If they go side to side, these are easier to fix.

My neice and nephew scratched their favorite game, the WII Sport that they had only for about a week. I think they had dirt on the disc and put it in the machine because the scratch is a perfect circle like it got scratched while spinning.
My brother called WII and they will send another disc for 1/2 price but you only get the disc, not the book or the case. He did order a new game since this was their favorite and they got alot of exercise with it.

I have used the toothpaste remody many times on ps2 and cd's and it works well.

If you have a Family Video near you, I think they charge $2 to buff out the scratches in their machine. Worth a try. We have a couple that don't work either and I have been meaning to take them there.

We take ours to Game Exchange and they repair them on their machine for $3 a piece. We've tried the disk dr kits from Best Buy and none have really worked for us.

If the scratch is made in the same place all around the disk, the disk reader can do that. Ours did, and the manufacturer fixed it for free

I have touched p CDs and DVD with a glue stick. I just polish it in, rinse off the excess, polish off sticky residue with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Sometimes it takes a few tries but it works of the scratches are not too bad.

Anything that works on taking scratches off will work for CD's. I use regular car polish for light scratches. But you would need a disc doctor or something similar for taking out deeper scratches.

If there's any scratches to the top of the disc, then the cd is ruined. The info is stored on the silver below the label. If you scratch the label, you've ereased that part of the game. Then I'd suggest contacting nintendo to replace it for half price...

Another vote for toothpaste. It has to be plain white (no gel). It's worked miracles many times for me.
