I have read lots of thread as of late comparing Goodings, Publix, Super Target, Winn-Dixie, Albertson's and resort stores (eg. Pop Century) for purchasing groceries - especially milk, bread & juice. I just looked at the DVC member grocery form, and all that is available for 2% milk is quart and pints - I now have to convert this to metric as we sell 4 litre bags of milk here for approx. $5.00 CDN. I don't want to have to buy milk a million times throughout the week, so the sizes at the resort seem too small and quite expensive.

Could someone give me an idea of what size milk is available and prices for 2% white milk please?

Thanks, Tiger

A gallon is 3.78 liters

a half a gallon is 1.89 liters

A quart is 0.945 liters

A pint is 0.473

Yes Usually on site will be more pricey than a grocery store like Publix.

Thanks that is helpful, but would you also be able to give me some estimated prices of milk?

Thanks, Tiger

I'm going to publix tommorow and I'll try and remember to get you some prices.

Although the prices at the resort shops are higher than grocery stores unless you will have a car already I think it will be much cheaper to just buy the milk than to get a taxi, rent a car for a day, etc.. The prices aren't outrageous and you will save time by just buying at the resort. And time is certainly money on a WDW vacation. ;)

ok my local publix had the following prices.

( Note I live in East Orlando )

TG Lee
$4.65 a gallon
$2.89 1/2
$1.75 quart
$1.09 a pint

Publix brand milk
$3.49 a gallon
$2.09 1/2
$1.39 Quart
99 cents for a pint.

I also wanted to comment that I've sometimes have seen a half gallon at the Disney Stores ( Example Boardwalk screen door) .

Thanks so much for posting - that was really thoughtful! This is a big help as now we know what sizes we'll need for the baby throughout the week.

If you only need milk, bread, juice and soda and you have a car we found the Hess mini markets were very reasonable. While we were at BWV my DH would walk to the Hess right at Boardwalk entrance. He found to his delight beer was much cheaper as well :p

I was wondering if someone was going to suggest this, it was a nice surprise our last visit. Krispy cream donuts, etc.

Thanks for reminding me of Hess! We stopped there for gas last year (I forgot), and my DH liked it as well.

6 more hours to go!! Tiger :earsgirl:
