DH and I have been looking for a good Japanese Steakhouse place to eat and have read good things about Mitsukoshi Tempanyaki in the Japan pavillion in Epcot. For anyone that has been, how is it. I know that PS are hard to get, but is it really up to the hype?

We would like to go with some friends who are kind of iffy on Disney and want to show them that Disney is not all kiddie rides and Mickey Mouse (of course the rides and characters are the most important to me). Any reviews and comments are appreciated!

It's good, just like Benihana or any number of other places just like it. Never had a bad meal there but not anyplace I've raved about either. We eat there sometimes because my son LOVES that type of food, but we have a similar place two miles from our NJ house, so it's not "special".

We've never had a hard time getting a PS there.

As an FYI they don't participate at all or fully in many/most applicable dining discounts if you get my drift. ;)

I agree with ducklite. The food is good but nothing you can't get at any similar resturant. Our chef was however quite entertaining. Flipping shrimp on my DD plate. She was four and thought that was so funny. He also spelled my DH name out in bean sprouts, had to take a picture of that. We had a very nice time. :wave2:

Agreed. It's okay, but not the best teppan dining I've ever had.

I'd suggest Chefs de France or Restaurant Marrakesh inside the parks, Boma outside the park.

We went this past December and while it was good it wasn't great....and it doesn't compare to the local restaurants we have around here. No fried rice, no clear soup....

We LOVE Teppanyaki. We always get the steak and chicken and love the dipping sauces served with it. I also pay an extra dollar to get the salad and really like the ginger dressing. The kids enjoy the show the chefs put on, plus DD is eating something that seems a little healthier than a lot of the other meals she has at WDW. I'm sure it is like other teppan places, but we don't go to any around here so it is special to us. I just wish they were participating in the MYW plan- guess we'll have to try O'hana or somewhere else instead.

Along with the Cali Grill, our family's ( me, wife, 3 daughters 3, 7, 9) fav. rest. at WDW.

We enjoyed it on our last trip, May 2003. It was our first time eating this style of food.

I love it there. We go every year. Go for lunch, its a bit cheaper for same portion sizes and we have always just walked up and got in w/no problems and no ps's.
