We are in the process of purchasing a resale, 160pts Sept UY, 18pts 2003 and 144pts 2004 banked. We are planning a Dec 2005 vacation and would need 270pts, would really like 330pts.
When the sale goes through (not if, thinking positive here) I'm thinking that I would use 144pts 2004 and borrow 126pts 2005, is this correct?
Can I make reservations for Dec 2005 when the contract is for Sept UY?
If I needed 330pts, would I have to rent 26 additional points or can I borrow them from 2006 since we are in 2005?

Congratulations on your resale.

September 2003: 18 points banked to 2004 so they can be used from Sepetmber 1, 2004 to August 31, 2005

September 2004: 144 points banked to 2005 so they can be used from Sepetmber 2005 to August 31, 2006.

September 2005: 160 points to be used from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2006.

For a December of 2005 trip, you would have the banked 144. The current 160 and you could borrow the 160 from 2006 for a total of 464. So you would have more than enough to take the trip and use 330 points. But for a 270 point trip, you wouldn't have to borrow at all.

More importantly, if that's the first trip you take, you stand to lose the 18 banked from 2003. You might want to think about a short trip before the end of this August.

You can always make a reservation 11 months in advance. Use year has nothing to do with that.

The points banked from 2003 will have to be used by August 31, 2005.

The banked 2004 points may be combined with the September, 2005 points and borrowed 2006 points for a trip in December, 2005.

Use Year does not control making reservations. Reservations are made based on the points you will have available for the dates of the reservation - in this case, banked- current and borrowed points will be needed.
