I see that there will be no Fantasmic, no Electrical Parade, and probably no WOC. Will there be anything special going on???? :(

I THINK there is going to be an EP in April, don't quote me on that but I am pretty sure that's what I have read.

DEP is returning March 19 and I *believe* will be running for 5-6 weeks.

Fireworks will be going on the weekends.

Only on the weekends???
We'll be there the first week of May- only Mon through Fri.
I guess I assumed that DL had fireworks every night. :confused3
Not true?

No, definitely not every night in May.

And to the OP, regarding anything special going on - isn't Disneyland on its own pretty special?

Bummer. I wish you could have come around this forum before locking in your dates and we could have helped with date choices.
Thanks for the link and the insight.
Unfortunately, we didn't have much wiggle room in our dates. We are combining out DLR visit with a visit to family in the San Francisco area. The family stuff has to happen over the weekend, so we fly back down to LA on Monday afternoon and stay until Saturday morning.
So, the bright side is that we will have Friday night to see fireworks- since that looks like the only opportunity.

You are so right on the money in that, as WDW veterans, we assumed the fireworks/parades/entertainment would be offered every day.
This is our 2nd trip to Disneyland- and we will make the most of it even if the hours are shortened and the entertainment is scarce. Our first trip was at the end of June (2004) and I guess that was high season- and so I never considered that things would be so different in early May.

We were hoping that World of Color might start by our visit- but that time table doesn't seem certain yet.
And I have seen some reports that Fantasmic and the Rivers of America/Tom Sawyer Island rehab will reopen during our week- but still waiting for an official word on that.

We will be happy to ride what we can, soak in the ambiance and enjoy whatever we can. We do plan to take in the Food & Wine and do 2 tours (Walk in Walt's Footsteps & the CA Segway tour) as well as plans for some great meals (I know the restaurants will be open :thumbsup2) and get in some relaxing and enjoy the GC Villa!

Thanks again for the link HydroGuy! I will be reading it and your other tips & posts as we get closer to our trip!

We will be going April 24-May 1.

Is there actually a chance that the Electrical Parade (correct name?) will be showing then? I would be so excited....we miss it every year as we go in late August usually and they halt it the week before. Typically how soon do schedules go up so if they do have it I can get premium viewing??

Also as a PP said, there is a chance that Rivers of America could be refilled then.....I also read May 6 is the date. Any speculation?

I might post the above as a new thread.

I believe I saw it on Mouseplanet that the 3rd week of April is the end of the EP. I think we will miss it. :(
