Where can you get these at WDW? How much do they cost? Do you have to have all the charms put on it at once or can you do it as you go?

I saw them at the jewelry store at MGM, in Downtown Disney, the watch shop in MK and in Italy at Epcot. I am sure they are elsewhere but that is only where I personally saw them. I cannot recall how much the starter bracelets were but the enamel & 18K gold ones were just about $25. I believe the crystal ones are $35 (I could be wrong). You can buy a starter bracelet (usually $15 or less I have seen in general) and that usually comes with 14 links. Then you can either buy a few other blank charms or a few of the ones with designs. You can definitely buy as you go as you remove a blank link to put in a new one.

Oh, they also have "cheapy" ones which I don't buy (they usually lose the enamel or the charms fall off) and I saw those everywhere. If they are just hanging on a rack and not behind a case, they are the cheap ones.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I have a few of these bracelets myself :) Good luck and have fun shopping :)

Do the charms snap into the links? Or is the charm a part of a link and then you replace it? And can you get the bracelets in yellow and/or white gold or are they just silver? AND does anyone have a picture of theirs? I've alway loved charm bracelets so these have interested me since I like how they are a little sleeker.

Lisa, the vast majority of the bracelet links are stainless steel. That is a very strong metal that won't tarnish. Then on top you have the 18K gold symbols & pictures that are 'soddered' on (not glued, but whatever they can do to make it pretty much permanent). Those are almost always gold with enamel or solid gold (the cheapies are gold plated silver that are attached to the stainless backing... I've seen some with glue).

Here's a picture of some good charms and the different sizes of bracelets

The standard size is in the middle and that is the most readily available. THat is the only one I have seen at WDW. I do have a picture of mine, but they look all gold and not very clear (plus I've added a ton since I took a picture)

Here's a great link that explains how to put them together

But yes, you do replace each link... nothing snaps on top of the bases. Oh and you can get some in all 18K gold, but those are very expensive. I do like these charm bracelets much better than the old style because they are sleeker and don't get caught on things. I think they are also sturdier than the old charms ;)

So if you buy a charm at WDW, what do you do, take it to a jewelry store to have it put on a link? Is this the kind of thing you can add to slowly?

You can buy a little tool that helps you put the charms on yourself. Or you can do it with a small screwdriver too. You can add the charms as slowly as you want. I bought three to start with. Then my girlfriend sent me two as a gift. My son and husband bought me a couple for my birthday and Mother's Day. Most people need about 18 to 20 links to fit on your wrist. I love mine. Each charm means something to me. And no dangling to catch on clothes.

My sister (thelk4) just had a charm party at her house. The cheapest bracelet was $6 and the most expensive (w/ the gold trim) was $18. The special was that if you bought 3 charms, then you got $6 off any bracelet. They are the same ones that are on the different italian charm websites. The malls also have kiosks with a selection of Disney, Pro Teams, and many more items. I got the silver w/ gold trim bracelet and a shamrock charm, a Pirate logo, and I ordered a Green Mickey which the lady didn't have on hand. These are the best charm bracelets. They are a good quality and much better from the charms we had as kids.

Oh I forgot to tell you. Buy your charms online. You get free shipping with many sites and you don't have to pay sales tax. Just do a serach for Italian Charms and you'll find a ton of places. My favorite site is Dolls and Ducks. The seem to have the best prices on Disney charms.

I've been building a bracelet at the italiancharms site. What fun! I love the little drag and drop feature. So far I'm up to $264  :teeth: I can't decide between the shiny or the gold trim. I think I may have found a present for DH to get me for my bday!

OK, I admit sometimes I'm a little slow:p Let's say you order a 20 link bracelet to start. Then buy a charm at WDW or another store. You add the charm ONTO the bracelet, and you don't takea link out to make room for the charm, right? I got a little confused at another site because their starters were only 14 links so I assumed you needed to fill the rest with charms, I mean, who has that tiny of a wrist?!?

Lisa, for each charm you add, you usually remove one of your plain links. I started with a 14 link starter bracelet, bought 3 charms at first, and then purchased an additional link for $1 for a total of 18 links. At my charm bracelet party, I purchased 6 additional charms, so I now have 6 blank links that I can use to start to build a new bracelet. If you are in an area that has home parties for the bracelets, it is the way to go! I ended up getting around $140 worth of charms for only $37!!
