Hi everyone, I am traveling across country starting next wed, my first stop being Disneyland but anyways I am planning on going to New Orleans for day. I have never been to this part of the country and am excitied. But i was wondering if anyone has suggestions about where to stay there, somewhere cheap but not scary, please. And when I visit the city, should I drive in, take public transportation? I'm just curious to what is the best and safest way to visit downtown New Orleans. Thanks for any help!

there is a great website www.louisianatravel.com/cfm/tabasco.cfm The book probably won't get to you in time, but there's some great info for your trip on the site. I sent away for the travel guide and it came with a cute little sample of Tabasco sauce. Have fun on your trip!!!

This time of year you can get pretty good hotel prices I think. How are you travelling around the country? Are you driving? If you are, I would
drive around the city (You have my prayers though!). If you could find a good rate near the river that would be easiest. Or staying in a hotel near Causeway and the interstate intersection puts you in the suburbs but not too far out. If I knew what you are wanting to do, that would help. Please feel free to PM me...
