We check out the boards several times a day for tips for our Oct. 16th cruise.
There are two tips that we really wanted to do, but when we called Disney, they said they weren't true.
Are these outdated?
Someone posted that you could reserve diaper genies
Someone mentioned on the CC tips that there were waverunners
We called the cruise line last night to ask about availablity on these and they didn't know what we were talking about. Any recent cruisers know if these are outdated or not?

Thanks!
Ashley

You can do a waverunner excursion on CC but you really don't go out on your own, it's more like a guided tour. You should have received this sometime ago when you received your excurion information.
Don't know about the diaper genies...no babies here!

Does the waverunner excursion have a name? I just looked all through our excursion book, but didn't see anything about waverunners.

I don't know but I saw people on them during our stay at CC on the 9/11 cruise.
They even offered it to my DD after they cancelled her parasailing boat!:(
But we said no thanks.

just found this:

Personal Watercraft Eco Tour (1 hour)

Get to know Castaway Cay like a native! A knowledgeable guide will take you on a fascinating 1-hour eco adventure via personal watercraft as you learn about the area's abundant marine life, unique ecology and storied history. First, your guide will lead the way to a scenic stop amid the mangroves, where you'll learn about Castaway Cay's intriguing ecosystem. Then, it's off to a second point of interest, where your guide will describe the colorful history of The Bahamas and the unique island marine life. You may ride either singly or in pairs on this exciting journey-why not make it a family affair? The entire adventure, including PWC instructions will last approximately 1 hours. It is recommended to wear water shoes or sandals, as well as eyeglass straps. To ride, you must be at least 8 years old. To drive, you must be at least 18 years old. Guests ages 16 or 17 years old who wish to drive may do so with written authorization from a parent or guardian. Riders will board watercraft from the water.

Adult Price: $160 for a double; $95 for a single rider (ages 8 and above)
Child Price: $N/A
Departure Time: 9:45, 10:30, 11:15 am, 12:00, 1:00, 1:45, and 2:45 pm

We sail on the upcoming Dec 11 Magic cruise with our three children one of whom will be 14 months when we sail. I was able to reserve a pack-n-play crib and diaper genie for our room as well as a highchair for the dining rooms. I would call back, hopefully you will get someone else who can help you with reserving the items you might need. If not, don't despair, I'm sure there will be plenty available when you get on the ship- just ask your room attendant and he/she can get one for you.

We did the waverunner excusion on the 9/11 cruise! Much more fun than we anticipated...it is less "eco" and more "zoom" than the description implies...they really let you fly once you are away from the island. A must do if you have pre-teens or teens (but I wouldn't take anyone under 10...just too fast!)

We had a diaper genie in our stateroom when we cruised in March, 2003 with our then 15 week old. Your stateroom host/ess can provide one if the DCL sales rep doesn't note it on your ressie.

Sounds like you may have talked to a clueless CM. Most are VERY good, but sometimes you get one who doesn't seem to know anything. Maybe you should try one more time!

Happy sailing!:boat:

When I originally booked our July 2005 cruise the CM never mentioned anything about reserving this stuff ahead of time (He sounded young and childless). When I called back a few months later to add the REAS to our cruise the CM noticied that we had 2 little ones on our reservation and set us up with 2 high chairs for the dining room, 1 pack and play for the baby and a bed rail for our toddler. When I asked her to link our rooms with my SIL she even stayed on hold while I called my SIL and asked if she wanted to change her room to the one across the hall from us. She was GREAT!! In other words... call again!! Amy :teeth:

Thanks to all!

When I saw the various tips posted about waverunners, bed rails, diaper genies, etc. I called the cruise line. I was told: they didn't know about waverunners, or diaper genies, and there was no need for bedrails for my 4 year old.

After all your wonderful posts, I called back. It turns out, once I had the name of the waverunner excursion, they had it. Our excursion book doesn't mention it. It has a print date of 11/03, so I guess we received an outdated copy. They had three time slots left for the excursion so we were able to book that. They also reserved us bed rails. Still no luck on the diaper genie. I don't know why!
So I would never have been able to get this done without you all!

Thanks!

Oct. 16 7 day Magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They told us there were no diaper genies too but the first day I asked out stateroom host about it and he brought us one everyday and emptied it everyday too! I also had not ordered bedrails and when I asked for that he brought it right away, asked what side of the bed I was going to want it on and put it on the bed every night.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can get our stateroom host/ess to clean our cloth diapers? There's probably not a tip in the world big enough for that!:)

We used cloth diapers too for our 2 little babies, but there is NO WAY in the world I would bring them on my cruise!! I think the cleaning and storing of them would be a nightmare.
