We are planning our second trip with our six year old and eight year old in October. Last trip, we splurged and stayed at the Grand California Hotel, which I HIGHLY recommend to everyone! However; this trip we want to take advantage of saving some money and using our new RV. I have searched for RV parks near Disneyland, and the only one I can come up with that seems like it would meet our needs is the Canyon RV Park in Anaheim, along the Santa Ana River. Anyone have experiences, good or bad with any close by RV parks?

Many thanks,
Lynette :earsgirl:

I've not stayed at the canyon RV park so I can't say much about it. CC Camperland is a dump--stay away from that one. Orangeland RV is nice but it is a bit of a drive to the park. Anaheim Resort RV park is the place that I stayed the last two times. I really like this one. Proximity is very good. A very short drive to the entrance to the parking garage. The grounds are well kept, staff are friendly and helpful. I did have a problem with the cleanliness of one of the bathrooms once and made a mental note to mention it to the staff, but 15 minutes later I noticed someone cleaning up the mess before I got a chance to say anything. They can support large rigs and have a few pull-thrus. Aisles are a bit tight but I've found that to be a problem with many parks. Wireless Internet access is a real plus for my family so I really like that. They have a shuttle that will take you to the park free. There's a McDonalds just down the road to hit in the a.m. before your day at the park (cheapest meal of the day!) Here's the biggest complaint that I have heard from other posters--The location of the RV park is in a run-down area of the city. Some have reported some seedy looking characters walking about. I have not seen too much riff raff and have never had a problem with people walking about that don't belong. The street that the RV park is located on is a dead end so traffic (both vehicular and foot) is at a minimum. Let me know if you choose the other and what you think of it. I'm always interested in new places.

Thanks for the reply, Steve. Canyon RV is about fifteen miles away, but since we have a travel trailer, we will have our vehicle to drive. What attracted me to Canyon, is that the grounds mainly lawn and trees. It seems like more of a park-like atmosphere, rather than asphalt. There are also cabins available to rent. Orangeland advertises that they are five miles away and they also offer a shuttle. I will check out Anaheim Resort RV park. Remember the old days, before DCA, when that parking lot was designated for trailers? I plan on microwaving waffles and pancakes for the kids. That means more money for me to spend at Disneyland. :rotfl:

I like a RV park that is more "green" than asphalt too. But, did not think that there was one so close to Disneyland. My next trip we will be staying at the DLH. But I may take a drive up to Canyon and check it out.

Here is the link to the campground that we stayed in. It was really nice to be able to scratch the camping itch at the same time as the Disney itch. :p

The park is beautiful and very, very well maintained. There are many snowbirds that live in this park. My kids loved the playground there too. They have common restrooms and showers.

It is a bit of a drive, but takes less than 30 minutes in morning rush hour traffic to get to the parking structure. It was the polar opposite of the Grand Californian, but I'm glad we made use of our trailer on this trip.

Hi Ratmom (we live in the same town)! We have friends that stayed at the Anaheim Resort RV Park on their last two visits to DL. They liked it (but Canyon looks much prettier). She told me that Anaheim Resort RV park has private showers, bathrooms, laundry facilitie so that you don't have to worry about your tanks filling up. She said it is very quiet there, and they never had any problems. It was always peaceful. She did warn that the owners are very particular about check-out time-Nothing rude or anything, but he probably is just forced to be that way due to the location and probably being taken advantage of in the past. Also, there is a shuttle that will take them to the park and I think all they ask is for a tip. Hope some of this thread helps others who are considering "RVing it" out!

We are also planning an RV trip to disneyland and I see people have Responded about the Anaheim Resort RV park. And I was wondering if you had heard anything about the Anaheim Harbor RV park?
Thanks
