We will also be dashing for dumbo. It's good to know you don't actually have to run, and drag the kids along to get a decent wait time.
I just wanted to ask, what characters are available for autographs at park opening?

just about every character you can imagine will be there...we usually skip right through and get all of fantasyland out tof the way 1st....with Dumbo being our first stop....when then head to toontown and do autographs and barnstormer etc..then its lunch time we sit and decide which way we want to go...tomorrowland, adventureland...frontierland....we skip breakfast and get a early lunch before crowds get big in the resturants and then catch a early dinner 4:30 or so...and then a bite after we leave at the resort

Last week on Sat. the 9th we got to Dumbo to ride with the second batch of people. The park opened at 9am. Me and dd went to CRT and got out in time to wait at the rope at Fantasyland. My dh actually came in a few minutes after me with my son. We didn't have to run or anything. When they dropped the rope, I walked to Dumbo and waited for dh. He arrived 3 minutes later and we went on the ride with no wait. As long as you are at the park for rope drop, it won't be a problem.

After that we went on every ride in Fantasyland except the tea cups and Philharmagic before 10 am. By 10am, there was a 30+ minute wait for Dumbo.
