I will be dropping off my DD at MCO on a Monday in August. Her flight leaves at 7:50PM, so I'd like to get her there about 6:50. Will I hit rush hour? and about how long would that take? TIA

I would allow more time than that. They start boarding a half hour before departure so you are only allowing 1/2 hour to check luggage and get through security.

If you take 417 no rush hour to speak of. If you are going on the Beeline (528) or the Beach line as it is now called I would allow extra time. 30 mins is the usual travel time to the airport.

Definitely take 417! The only problem I've ever encountered there is long toll lines...other than that, it generally moves quite well (as opposed to the I-4 "parking lot").

I agree with getting there more than one hour in advance of the flight. There was something on the news the other day about Orlando having a new system for its frequent travelers to avoid the long security check-in. I think it always takes us at least twenty minutes to get thru security at MCO. In January, on a Monday, it took us 45 minutes to get thru all the security lines. Two weeks ago in Atlanta, we almost missed our flight because our connection ran late. They called final boarding 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

I think I allotted 25 minutes the last time I drove from WDW to MCO on 417.
