I wasn't sure if this should go in Coping and Compassion or here, so sorry Mods if it needs to be moved!
My son has had a hole in his eardrum for 1.5years due to an infection that ruptured his eardrum. It's not healing and it is starting to "bowl" which apparently causes cysts so surgery it is.
Has anyone had experience with this surgery? They told me he will spend at least one night in the hospital and I can stay with him. He is also restricted from all physical activity for 6 weeks post surgery.
We are for sure waiting until soccer season is over, this is his first competitive year and he doesn't want to miss it. So I'm looking at the end of August or the first week of September. I don't know whether to ruin his last two weeks of summer vacation or have the surgery the first week back to school and have him miss two days of school.
If you or someone you know has had the surgery what was it like. The pain levels, the recovery time etc...?
