RuPaul's Drag Race

Tammy Brown really needs to learn how to pick out wigs better. That forehead goes on for miles! :scared1:

As for beating her down, a drag queen has to be versatile, not just a Tammy Wynette wannabe.

"I don't like this kind of music!" :sad2:

On the other hand, it was a group challenge, and each one was supposed to be given an area to show off her creativity. Instead, they said "Here Tammy, you're in charge of costumes. And by 'in charge' we mean, you sew what we tell you to sew." She wasn't given any say in ANYTHING. No wonder she was miserable. My guess is that her little wardrobe malfunction was intentional so that she could show some of her own personality on stage.

Have to agree with you on the wigs though.

Thank you, I didn't know how to describe it. :scared:

Was it a coincidence she looked like Baby Jane? ;) :lmao:

You all now have me so intrigued. We've dvr'd the shows, but haven't had time to watch due to the other 258 shows we record.....

We'll never catch up.

:rotfl2:

What was up with her? "I didn't want to sing that song!" Honey! It's a drag competition, sing what they tell you to sing!

Where is she from? I have a feeling she is quite funny when she is in her own element!

I think Tammy suffered the same problem as the first contestant-she was too "regional". It's clear that they're looking for the next RuPaul, so they need performers who are more generic. Sadly, I kind of wish that she had some of Bette Davis' sass and nerve. She probably would have gone farther.

Shanelle is emerging as my favorite. (Anyone else think she looks like Kirstie Alley?)

This is where Rob and I disagree-I don't think she looks very much like Kirstie Alley.

Maybe if she were wearing a muu-muu...:rolleyes1

We are going to the county fair tonight, and they have racing pigs! :rotfl2:

Then I can come home and watch the drag race episode #3 on TV!

Get me a checkered flag! :cool1:

It was on a work! :sad2:

Sigh....I miss the Betty Crocker car! :lmao:

Tonight looks fun!

The queens are tested on their multi-media prowess as they show off their talents as newscaster, product spokesperson, and talk show host to RuPaul and guest judge Debra Wilson of MADtv.

Cool! I love Debra Wilson! She's a very funny lady!

I set the TV to flip to it tonight. :yay:

Yes, I program the TV every morning because by the night, I'll forget to change the channel. :lmao:

Just saw episode #1, now that was funny!

:rotfl2:

I nearly fell off the couch laughing..

Pork Chop got screwed by the judges in my book.. but then she stumbled while lipsyncin and her day in the sun was over..

And that outfit ! OYE!

So, who watched episode three?

Can I just say that there was much hooting and hollering at Casa de Rob and Scott when Akashia got sent home? :woohoo:

She was a trashy, no-talent, mess. Good riddance.

Shannel really went off the rails though. Still, I think she's one of the toughest contestants. And am I the only one that thinks the "Snake Goddess" costume was perfect for an "Oprah Inspired" competition? :rotfl2:

Bebe really impressed me this week. And Ongina was very funny.

None of them did all that well reading the teleprompter, but a couple of them were complete disasters.

Best moment of the night? Dean wearing the drag shoes of death and walking across the room in them. And how curious is it that his nails were painted?

Just watched it over coffee! :surfweb:

I almost fell off the couch when the snake headress fell off! :rotfl2:

That was awesome! Interestingly, that's probably what kept her in the competition.

Oh, and Akashia falling on the runway! :rotfl2: LOVED IT!

And RuPaul "A queen knows to give the gown a test run" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So I FINALLY watched this show (online, sadly I no longer have Logo). And I agree with most of the stuff being said. I find it INCREDIBLY amusing. (For those of you that don't have Logo and don't like watching online, a friend told me it comes on VH1 too...havent checked yet). I must say, after watching Ep 3, I'm now loving Ongina. Still kind of like Shannel, and the wardrobe malfunction was PERFECT timing. Doesn't get much better than that!!

I've also noticed that for a low budget show on a "not-so-popular" network, they have had some pretty decent "extra special" guest judges and appearances!

I look forward to seeing the rest of this competition!!
