Running track on the Magic?

Hi all!

Does anyone know if there is a track to run on on the Magic? On the Disney Dream, it's outside on Deck 4, and clearly labelled, even the distance: (2.5 laps = 1 mile.) I looked on the Deck plans on the Magic and didn't see anything similar. It looks like the Wonder has something similar, at least on Goofy's sports deck, and I'm sure the Magic has treadmills, but how about a track?

Anyone know? :confused3

Thanks.

Deck 4 on the Magic! :)

There will be people walking, jogging, running.

Yay!!! This has me excited!! I just started jogging, mostly in preparation for all I plan to eat in January :) but I was nervous to run on a treadmill, since I run outside at home!!!

Running on deck 4 of the Magic is my favorite place in the world to run!

At home, I run on an indoor track or outdoors where it is very hilly. There is something wonderful about running at sea. It's very calm, the ground is smooth, and except for a small down at the front of the ship, very flat. It's nice and wide too. Three laps equals one mile.

One thing to remember on the Magic/Wonder running track is that they close it down about 30-45 minutes prior to arriving in a port. You run through the front mechanical area with all the winches and ropes on the classic ships. These areas are off limits to passengers right before docking. I remember this was an issue as I wanted to run one morning and we were arriving in St Thomas relatively early. I was forced to use a treadmill that morning.
There is no issue with closing the running path on the Dream/Fantasy.

Bummer on the Magic this past week--the two times I went to use the track, parts were closed for maintenance. Hopefully, they'll be done soon so runners can avoid the RUN-TURN AROUND-RUN due to the closure. Treadmills were plentiful and empty in the gym, though.

OK so reading the last update from Gene I am starting to wonder if the Disney Magic running track is ever not closed for maintenance. I ran the track last year and yes of course you get to one point and its "Under Maintenance." Every day no luck. Can anyone weigh in and let me know if they have ever seen the running track completely open without being under maintenance.

The forward area is closed during port stops. That's the only time I had a problem going all the way around on deck 4.

This has been my experience on the Magic and Wonder. They close the deck in the morning and at night on port days for mooring and periodically for maintenance. On one cruise on the Wonder it was roped off the whole cruise.

On our 12 day cruise it was open except in port, but I've had issues with it being closed on the Wonder for maintenance.

Yes, on the Magic the Mooring area was roped off the entire trip.

Ugh. What cruise were you on?
