Yes, this is another "can you give me your opinions about my Dining Plan choices" thread! But, hey! you're the experts and I value your input.

5 nights OKW on points w/ DP added. dh, me, dd10, dd8 (we plan to share meals at every place that we can). 20 CS, 20 TS, 20 snacks available.

Check-in Sun afternoon (no park)
3 CS at OKW
3 TS at Whispering Canyon (dh wants ribs...any better ideas?)

Monday
2 CS at OKW bfast
3 CS Tusker House
3 TS Le Cellier
2 CS pastries at France for bfast

Tues
bfast--pastries
3 CS lunch (MGM where??)
4 TS Ohana

Weds (no park)
breakfast?
3 CS Typhoon Lagoon
4 TS Chef Mickey's

Thurs
2 CS OKW breakfast
2 CS Cosmic Ray's
3 TS Le Cellier again or Teppanyaki (can we share there? still trying to convince dh)

Fri (no park)
4 TS (1 oop) 1900 Park Fare
check out, drive home

I'm open to changing dinner to somewhere new on Sunday night, we've got ADRs twice at LeCellier in case we really like it, but I'm also open to suggestions for Thurs dinner. We're really frugal, so paying $625 for food is ALOT...we're never spent more than $400 during a 5-night vacation. I'm tempted to order the most expensive of everything so that I feel like I get my money's worth, but I'd rather just order what sounds good, regardless of whether it's the most expensive thing or not....

Totals: 20 CS, 21 TS (1 oop), ?? snacks

Any helpful hints, encouragements, or suggested changes?

Thanks!

Carmen

We really liked Spoodles on the Boardwalk. It was great food and a great server. We took the boat from Epcot and were there in no time.

I also use snack credits to get rice crispy treats and we used those for some breakfasts. Then we could save the CS credits for lunches that we split and dinners like at Pepper Market.

We were not able to get into LeCellier the last trip but I have reservations for this time. It sounds good. We enjoyed Ohana and the kids want to go back there but we are leaning toward trying Boma instead.

It all sounds yummy to me! :cool1:

Where do you plan to get Counter Service at OKW for breakfast? I think Goods to Go only has burgers, etc. I see where they do have breakfast hours from 7:30-10:30, but I didn't think they served breakfast.

My DD and I shared at Teppanyaki one year. They gave each of us a plate and loaded it with the veggies, rice, etc. Then when he did our meat (steak), he just divided it between our plates.

Also, he brought my DD 12 a kids mickey ice cream when he brought my DD10 her kids ice cream that came with her kids meal.

This was before the dining plan, though. We were paying OOP.

From reports on this board we are doing the following on our trip in February.

Boma
Le Cellier
Kona Cafe
Crystal Palace
Spoodles
Nacoosees

These are all our dinner reservations

For CS we are looking at:

Tangierine (Epcot - World)
Tusker House (AK)
Pico Bells (MK)
Caseys (MK)
- but havent thought of anymore on CS yet

...........and when I come back I will probably need to go on a diet! :rotfl:

OKW does not have breakfast for CS, since you are renting points you could really stretch your CS with a small purchase of breakfast foods. Even in a studio you will have a coffee pot, fridge and micerowave so things like bagels, waffles, toast, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, etc. would be very simple and give you more flexibility so that you do not waste time with CS in the AM. You will get better meals for your CS choices at DTD or one of the other resorts over OKW--there just isn't great CS to be had there.
MGM CS I found the Backlot express to be pretty good--you are also very close to the Epcot resorts--only a boat ride away so you could do CS at the Spoodles take out window.
