I have been running on and off for about 2 years. I got shin splints in july 09. I took a 3 1/2 months off and started back up in Nov. 09. By the first of Dec I got shin splints back. I've to a dr who sent me to a PT. I know do special stretches and try to back off at any pain. I have done all running indoors since Nov on a treadmill. I bought new shoes in Nov. The PT added an insert under my inserts the chiropractor gave me. These shoes have apx 75 miles on them all indoors untill this week. I need to get a pair of shoes for outdoor running since the weather is getting better. We had some 30-40 degree days so I couldn't help myself but get outdoors and run. I only have one good pair of running shoes (my indoor running shoes). I wore these outdoors this week but my shin splints came back. My shoe rubs wrong on my left foot. If I wear them on a treadmill no problems but outdoors terrible pain. I have been told by my PT I have a very normal foot, normal arch, normal walk, etc. I currently have Asics
GEL-Kayano® 16. Wondering what shoe I should buy for outdoor running. I try to stay under $150 due to my budget. I need to get something soon and get them broke in. I'm hoping to run a half marathon this summer.
