Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I will be traveling to New York in a few weeks and staying in Time Square. I have mapped out a run that goes through Central Park. My questions is, what is the best time of day to go for a run in the park? I normally run very early in the morning, so that is not an issue. My main concern is the traffic going to and from my hotel.

Since no response for the time it's been on this side, I'm going to transfer this to the Events side of WISH. Hoping here someone will have a idea for you.

Not too long ago I was up in NYC also staying in the Times Square area. I loved running in Central Park. Not sure of the time but if you get there early enough it is closed to traffic. Lot's of runners out.

I just used the large sidewalks to get to Central Park. Good time to start out a little slow because you do have to stop at some of the side streets.

Enjoy, it is an awesome place to run.

traffic in the early morning is a non-issue in new york...the city is dead. i wouldn't run in central park alone before sunrise though as a safety issue.

here's a list of running routes in the park:

especially if you are from out of town - the must see is the reservoir loop. the view of the skyline are phenomenal. again i wouldn't go alone - but if you have someone to run with, the view at night is especially to die for with the skyline all lit up.

as a local i'm lucky enough to run in central park 2-3 times a week. enjoy...it really is truly the best place to go for a run!
