Can somebody tell me the procedures for BOTH DVC and AP early registration? My wife and I will be registering for our first runDisney experience (DW Marathon/1/2 Marathon in January) and want to know exactly what to expect and what to do when the early registration opens April 14.

Some questions:
1 - Can I register myself and my wife at the same time (without having to enter DVC/AP info again)?
2 - Do I even need DVC or AP number to get access to site?
3 - I am a DVC member (2 contracts, but only in my name) and both my wife and I have AP's.

That's about it for now, thanks in advance for any help.

I can tell you my experience from the Wine & Dine Half this past month. We only registered for the Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5K since this is our first Disney race and we are all new to running. The registration actually opened about 5 minutes or so before the hour. You DO NOT go through runDisney or Active.com for early registration. You go directly through either your AP account or your DVC account. I logged on to my AP account and registered myself. My daughter logged on to our DVC account and registered herself and her sister. We were able to all 3 get registered. You might want to visit the W.I.S.H. board under Just for Fun for more info. There are a lot of runDisney threads there. Good luck!

What I was wondering about was where do DVC members register? I had assumed it was on the DVC Member site, but when I went there, there was no mention of it. And if DH doesn't get in on April 14th, can he just try again on April 28th. If I'm correct, there's no DVC discount, is there? And do any DVC runners have a preference as to which DVC resort to stay at, OKW or BCV? I know that when DH did the F&W half marathon, BCV was super convenient. But for the marathon weekend is it a plus? I've heard the buses from OKW to the starting line can take a long time.

To see how it should end up being, go to rundisney and choose Avengers. Go to Registration, then go to Early Registration Opportunities. There it says

Select early registration opportunities are available two weeks prior to official registration opening date for each race weekend.

Clicking on (their) "learn more, you get to the DVC member page. It's the same page you can get through by logging in, going to "Membership Magic", then "Special Offers", then "Early Registration for rundisney Events!" And THAT page, if you're still with me, gives you a link to where you go to register.

And yes you can try again if you don't make it with DVC registration.

I have used the DVC for almost all events I've done, and I'm just the associate. I've never had to show a number though I carry DH's DVC card with me.

Any of the buses CAN take a long time. We quite enjoyed SSR for Wine and Dine last year. So we wouldn't have a problem with OKW. I stayed at All Star Music for 2014's Half, and at Art of Animation for this year's. It's all good as long as it's a host resort (and all resorts are hosts for the January event).

I retraced my steps to see how I found it. From the sign in page I clicked on the Membership Magic tab at the top of the page. From there I clicked Special Offers. runDisney early registration is listed on that page. There is a link that will go live at the listed time for whatever race you are registering.

There was no discount for DVC or AP.
