I just registered for my first runDisney event, the Wine and Dine 10k. We are super excited! Anyway, I see they have separate men's and women's shirt sizes. For non-Disney t-shirts, I typically get somewhere between a men's large and XL (for unisex it usually seems to be an XL). Anytime I get a Disney t-shirt from a store on property, I usually need an XL (because they all seem to be unisex). However, with the runDisney shirts being labeled as specifically men's or women's I am wondering how they fit. Do they run larger than the large and XL t-shirts that you would buy in the Disney stores/gift shops? Is there an opportunity at the expo to exchange the shirt for a different size?

Thank you for your feedback!

It's hard to say how the shirts will fit, because runDisney is switching over to Brooks as their supplier and Springtime Surprise is going to be the first event where they'll use them.

The women's fit is more about the cut, it will narrow somewhat toward the waist and then flare out a little for the hips, so it depends on how that works for your body type (I personally prefer a little looser in the waist area) There is a shirt exchange area at the expo, but it's not totally guaranteed that they'll have the different size you want.

Ok, thank you! Good to know that there is an exchange area.

Women's fit shirts also are usually a shallow v-neck. But with the Brooks changeover, that could also change.
I actually would describe them as more of a medium v cut. The old Champion brand ones were more shallow.

The rundisney brand ones are actually too deep for my body type/tastes, so I switched over to unisex. Looking forward to seeing what the Brooks ones are like.

I wear a 42 long suit size, and I get the Large RD men’s shirt. It fits me perfectly (except the sleeves tend to be a bit short, hence needing a long suit coat). If your chest circumference is larger than 42 inches, I’d size up to the XL. Per the Disney store website, medium is 38”-40”, large is 42”-44”, and XL is 46”-48”

In the past I've always gone up one size. I prefer an XL shirt but will order a XXL for tech. This formula tended to run nicely for the Champion brand, but I've found the generic-garbage one since have been a little tighter fitting. Hopefully, Brooks will bring back some consistency.

But when in doubt, order larger and you should be able to switch sizes at the expo.

Some of my favorite running shirts are made by Brooks. I would love it if the race shirts are something like their Distance Tee. I wear a Large and it fits nicely. I'm 210 lbs 6'0 ... I'm pretty sure the shirt in my avatar IS a Brooks running shirt. 😂
