Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I selfishly hope not since our trip is over the 4th and it is going to be nuts enough as is... I'd rather have to miss it than deal with the madness of its opening date in the middle of summer on a major holiday! :crazy2:
Ugh. Us too. And plus I don't have us in AK over July 4th since we were "supposed" to see ROL at the end of May!

So I know this is one place I can post this and you guys will get it. I was watching an MK vlog today and it was nighttime and I could hear the Frontierland music in the background and it just immediately brought me back to so many times being at MK late at night. Obviously I really enjoy going to Disney and experiencing all the attractions, food, shows, etc. but I'll be honest, I could probably sit down or stroll around MK at night, just listening to the sounds and smelling all the smells and be content. Well, if I temporarily forget how much I spent to get there...but I digress. Lol.

Y'all I already tear up talking to my boys about taking them to Disney! How many boxes of tissue am I gonna need when we actually get there??

I can't wait to create memories for future nostalgia soon ♡ My very first visit to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios and second visit to Magic Kingdom!! My mother in law has been teasing that this trip is really for me and I'm only bringing my daughter along.

Seriously though when I start feeling overwhelmed with school or life stressors, I start thinking about my Disney plans and all the intensity is replaced with excitement. :cloud9:

18 days!!! Is it time to pack yet?! I don't even care about ROL being delayed at this moment!

Okay, only a little, but all of AK will be new to my eyes!!

You are going to have an awesome time!!! It's impossible not to at WDW!!!

Thank you! I know! :D

As a nutrition major we do a vast array of food related projects, and tonight we had to host a booth at a cultural food fair. We had to man it for 2 hours and then we had an hour to walk around. I found a few Disney - loving classmates by joking that I was practising for Epcot! :)

Had to go into my alerts to find this thread. I was thinking there's no way this is past page 4 of the Theme Parks section!

In other joyous news, DW got rear-ended this morning by a 20-something who had to have his mom bring the correct insurance paperwork... :headache::headache:.. No injuries but the car is just barely over a year old so a bit annoyed.

I feel your pain ... the 19 year old who hit our 4-month old Suburban last weekend was completely self-absorbed - not even a "hey, sorry, my bad" (but he did take full responsibility when the police arrived) or even "are you all ok". Glad your wife is ok though!

Ugh! I had an accident about 2.5 weeks ago. Still haven't gotten the insurance money, but I did get a new car (mine was totalled). Hope your process goes smoothly!

After the adjustor hemmed a hahhed for a day, ours was deemed fixable. We will get it back early May if we are lucky. Fortunately, it's at a nearby body shop that my dad has used for years.

Guess that's a difference between Canada and US insurance, we won't actually see any money ...the garage bills our insurance company (who then colllects from the other guy's insurance company if I'm understanding things correctly).

Although I've fallen hopelessly behind on this "thread", (trying to catch up!) I just wanted to say how amazing it is everybody has been so helpful/supportive. After a very unpleasant exchange on another Disney page, I'm very thankful to have a place to vent, ask questions and laugh.

I missed a bit and lost my place on the thread. We had another accident?! Glad you're okay! :(

It's July now? OMG I'm so sorry for all June peeps. This is really argh. I really wonder how they could not have seen this coming if they need to push this back 3 months. It must be really grave. Or they learned from their previous mistake with announcing too early and are now being super careful and giving themselves extra time. Of course putting it on July 4th is another milestone date.... Pushing something from a random date like July 20th or July 30th is always easier than pushing something away from July 4th......

I don't think any official announcements have been made on a date yet, it's just another rumor at this point. There's nothing on the Blog at least.

The bolded statement might have been a little bit true for me on our first trip last year... :rolleyes1

I've almost accepted that we won't see ROL on this trip. We missed a lot of AK on our trip last year, so there'll be a lot of "new to us" attractions to keep us busy, and then we can spend the evening hanging out at the resort since the park is still scheduled to close at 6:30.

I know it's not official. I was more going at the idea of possibly using yet another important date as their opening date and the fact that not making further anouncements until about a month after the original opening date does sound like it's some grave difficulties they are encountering.

I have told DH that when we retire, I want to spend 3 weeks at Disney, just walking around the parks. I figure I will probably be doing it alone. He likes Disney, but is not quite the addict I am. :hyper2:

When my younger brother got married, they surprised all of us by having their first dance be a choreographed dance to the music from Illuminations. We were the only people at the entire reception who understood (including the brides parents, who had no clue), and it was so cool. It honestly made me cry, just hearing the music, and remembering all of the amazing nights we had watched those fireworks as a family. So many of my best memories are related to Disney. That is why, despite the rehabs, uber planning, schedule changes etc... it is still my happy place. 2 MORE DAYS!!! :dogdance:

If this was previously discussed, I apologize as I try to keep up

Initially, the new paid Early Morning Magic was sold out. I just happened to pull it up and every date has availability now. Does anyone know if they added more tickets, or was there glitchiness initially when we were all checking it after tickets went on sale and it showed no availability so we just thought it had sold out? (I have no plans to do this, just wondering as we will be at MK on a couple of the dates.)
