And in a related note, why does DISboards take my nice crisp avatars and blur them up for me? I have the right aspect ratio. Not sure what else might be an issue.

3 weeks from today, I am getting on a plane!!!

.
It's dogwood winter here. Because the dogwood is what is in bloom
Too early for our blackberries
The next cold snap will be blackberry winter here
That's probably what it is here, too. We have the dogwood festival this weekend! And my dad said the blackberries haven't started blooming yet.

The weather for the first day of our trip is officially within "extended forecast" territory so I was just enviously checking out the forecasted temperatures for Orlando over the next two weeks. The Weather Channel's site currently shows a "Fire Weather Warning" for Orlando today while here at home we have a "Freeze Warning." When DH and I started planning this trip, we commented that by late April we wouldn't need to "escape" freezing cold weather anymore - boy, were we wrong!

We freeze warning, extreme wind and had a quick snow shower in DC today! After the Cherry Blossoms and 80 degrees days last month! Hoping for good weather for your trip!

Sounds like me! To make matters worse, I've been working on a "short-term" project (that keeps getting perpetually extended) in a room with no windows since October. I miss the big window in my regular office! Vitamin D supplements just aren't the same.

I had to google that term - not sure we have a phrase for it here in the mid-Atlantic other than "that groundhog was wrong!" - but it definitely applies. We've reached the 80s, too but are waiting patiently 'til May to start planting anything outside.
DD6 keeps asking to plant flowers and I keep telling her we have to wait until after Mother's Day. Today when we woke up to snow I think she finally believed me.

We were supposed to get an onion snow today (coating to 2 inches). Instead we got at least 5 inches. Just a few miles north of us, our friends got 7 inches! We're ready to see some palm trees!
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a coating on only the lawn. Phi's going DOWN!

I'm still waiting on DH's shirt and the buttons! I wish my shirt wasn't quite so big - going to wash today and hoping it might shrink a bit!

LOVE this! Mine is from Bustedtees, I think, and I like yours better! I love the red accent in the background, mine isn't as dramatic, and her toe shoes aren't as red either - they really POP!

I finally ordered my Admiral Ackbar shirt from the series - I kept forgetting so it may not get here on time :(

@TheFloatingBear You're friends with Karen Hallion right? My husband was sad there wasn't a Pocahontas/Dr Who mashup... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Yes - our sons are good buddies! I will inquire! From my understanding, she's kind of in her busy season with comic cons and such, so I'm not sure how much new stuff she is doing! But I will definitely pass along your suggestions from the Pocahontas/Dr. Who fans!! :goodvibes

This is super OT I know, but does anyone know at the refill stations at the resorts if there is a "soda" button for seltzer/club soda. We call it seltzer where I live and I asked for it once on a road trip in TN and the man looked at me like I was crazy and said "y'all must not be from here, I don't know what seltzer is". I had to explain water with bubbles lol. I don't drink soda but am debating getting a refill mug.

No, they don't have seltzer. They have plain filtered water. I wish they had seltzer/club soda also.

Hey y'all - have any of you been to Disneyland and can point me to a good place to do planning? My cousin is planning a trip for her family for July 4 and has no plan yet. Yikes! Trying to find a place to help her out. I told her it would be super crowded then and now she is freaking. Looks like you can't make dining reservation until 2 months out and they use the paper FP still. Been searching the different websites I know but figured there are some I don't know about. Thanks in advance.

Actually, Disneyland is doable. I was there last July, and actually there on the exact date of the 60th anniversary. We had 5 day passes and were able to do and see everything. It uses the old fastpasses. Rope drop was at 8:00 am and we got there for that. I found it way less crowded and the wait times were less that WDW....by A LOT!
We saw Anna and Elsa with a 5 minute wait. There is no FP for toy story....and we didnt need it. Hardest ride to get on without FP was radiator springs. Everything else was really doable. There isn't the help online like with WDW....but that likely because it's not as necessary. I just used touring plans.

Have you tried poking around the Disboards Disneyland forum for suggestions?
