Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Hmmmm…. thinking about other special tickets Disney can allow (paying) guests to grandly experience

- For only $499, your family of four can ride the Rivers of Light Elephant flotilla. Be immersed in the light and spectacle during the show!
- For only $299, your family of six can inhabit the flora and tell the story by being in the corps de fern fronds.
- Just $99 per person, enjoy aquatic wonder as a lily pad, opening to the splendor told by the Rivers of Light. Best seat in the house. Act now, very limited availability.

****All of the above is satire and not meant to be taken as information…. unless it actually happens… then it's information and the prices are probably too low.

I agree with the thoughts on BOG, but I think an easier solution for Disney would be to treat it like CRT. Prepay and pay by person.
But, we get pre park ADR at BOG on most trips and enjoy the meal there, so maybe I'm biased because we like it.
For three rides, this would need to be a very limited event. Especially since most people would probably want to ride 7DMT a couple times. Just to get each ride done once before park opening, the wait would need to be less than 20 minutes on each ride.

Us too. We love CP, and we like the early morning stroll down Main Street.

We've never planned a trip early enough to score a pre-park CP, we would love that! But we have a BOG one. We're more about the early morning stroll down Main Street than anything else - and we eat breakfast...I know, crazy - last year it was like $5 cheaper! This year, we're doing a 2/6 split stay, so we're just doing the DDP on the front end for 2 days and front loading our buffets and BOG. Wondering if this will impact things...

Last year we were the very first family to enter the park - it was so cool! I have a picture on my phone...we're wearing matching monorail shirts, lol!

In addition to what @yulilin3 posted yesterday, I just found this posted on the Dibb (posted by SMAX - source unknown but SMAX's info generally seems to be reliable). At $69 for adults, I think I'm out, but I am glad to see a slightly reduced child price for this one.

Ok I read this as by by extra magic morning hours and hello paid extra magic hours.

If that's the case what the h&ll or did I read into something?

Only way I would ever pay for something like that is if I was only ever going to take my kids once in a lifetime.

For most of the people here I would assume it's a stupid cash grab.

We r at the point in our trips where if we don't do it that trip we will on the next. Why pay for something.

Unless it's something new then I would consider like the river of lights but I'm still even on the fence if it's only tusker house.

But watch out for alligators!

I want the elephant! Or maybe the lily pad...it all sounds so wonderful...

I called too. Robert said no dining packages until Summer due to Tiffins and said no preview parties. I asked if this was new info and he said "Fairly new." Based on what others are being told this morning, I don't know that I believe him but thought I would report it.
If this is true then they just need to open FP+ for it and be done with it.
It opens in like 4 weeks

Well, when I looked yesterday on WDW dining I saw the EMH Fantasyland Breakfast placeholder. This morning, I can't find it. As promised a few (hundred?) posts back, I went and did a few reps with hand weights (first time in a looong time) in honor of the "mysteriously disappearing" information and of course the Morning Hootenanny*!

Disclaimer: Morning Hootenanny, phrase courtesy of TheFloatingBear. Shenanigans caused by the Morning Hootenanny are not necessarily reflections of the DIS, DISers, or people with generally adequate amounts of sleep. :cloud9:

At least there's food - without food and with only 3 rides, we might have to change the name, as it might not be quite Hootenanny worthy...

I called. The CM seemed to think they'll have some info by Monday:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
And as long as they don't specify which Monday, they will be correct at some point. o_O

It's good to know there are Hootenanny standards. :D

I'm actually thinking of booking the early morning thing, depending on available dates. DS is right at 38 inches and he's excited to ride SDMT for the first time. We could kind of make a big thing out of this for him; go early, ride with (hopefully) a shorter wait, get breakfast, maybe ride again or do one of the other rides, then head out once it gets busy. Kind of make it a memorable experience for him. I just need to see some dates!

Oh, and still no baby.

Again, y'all may have already discussed this...but it's really only an hour of "protected" time, then breakfast.

Without them defining "limited", which of course they don't, it's tough to judge the value...just from rope drop 7DMT develops a wait very quickly...

I totally agree. Like others have said some of us (probably most) are booking prepark reservations to eat before the park opens, and to maybe get in while it's still quiet and walk leisurely to the restaurant, maybe taking some pics along the way.
I am looking forward to getting a picture of my family in front of the castle without 200 people in the background. Just to be able to walk around at a leisurely pace - that would be so wonderful! Paying $300.00+ a day to stay on property I will not pay an extra $370.00 to ride 3 rides. It may be more appealing in September when I am only paying $750.00 for a 2 bedroom condo for a whole week, though.

You were quiet yesterday so we were wondering if you had gone into labor. When is your due date?

People can flame me then, too, because this is *exactly* my thoughts as well. I partially blame Disney for this though since they opened the rides for those people but you should not take it for granted that any of these ADRs come with free access to rides before opening. Nowhere does it state officially "if you dine at BOG before park opening, you get to ride X before everyone else does". I think that was never the intention with these early ADRs. I always saw that as a way to actually get a nice breakfast that doesn't actually cut into your park hours. Disney has created a monster by opening certain rides earlier - and of course if they do this, then people will take advantage of it. And people will find a way to work the system to their advantage.
Hopefully there is no flaming here...we're just not that kind of thread....

I also have an early BOG, and I have to say that I made it to be able to MAYBE be in line for 7DMT before the RD crowd gets there, but from what I have heard, there is not that big of an advantage as the CMs keep you back quite a distance. I don't know for sure, as I've never done it before. But the four of us will be using 4 dining credits, so I don't feel like I'm working the system...just was lucky enough to get that early reservation.

I'm about this close to just saying screw it with the whole ROL thing. Preview packages are like a mythical creature at this point and I think I'd prefer dinner at Ohana anyways. After all this waiting we're gonna need the Lapu Lapus.

Agreed! Well, at least I scored another night! Remember when I was so excited about that...ah, good times..

Also I agree this morning thing is to close the loophole - I think it was you that said that upthread!
