Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I'd really really like to see that TWD attraction though. I am too chicken to do Universal's Horror nights but I think I could do that. Well... maybe... I don't know. I had to leave the Mummy haunted house that used to be at Universal Hollywood years ago because it scared the **** out of me when one of the mummies reached out of us. Almost had a heart attack. Oh wait, now I know why my DS11 is such a wuss
:rotfl: I know what you mean! I've liked horror films since I was a kid, but to see some Walkers coming after me?!? I think I might LOSE IT!!!:scared1:

I preface this post to say that I am absolutely not complaining and if the ROL gods smile down upon me and I get a preview party ticket, I will be over the moon...

however,

Looking at my itinerary for the week, if the dates/particulars for the parties come to pass, depending upon which one I got, it would blow up a large portion of my trip! Really any of them would, lol! Mostly a consequence of having to plan a whole lotta other stuff out without all the info! Now, don't get me wrong - it would be totally worth it and some of it would be good changes (use already reserved AK FPs for other parks), but I would definitely need some help, people!!

Again, I decided to just roll with it several days ago, so that would be my continued philosophy!

You can just walk through Hogwarts if he decides he doesn't want to ride. They call it the "Castle Tour."

Yeah, we've done the castle tour in the past. They even let us walk up the last corner to the sorting hat one day because my DS7 wanted to see. The CM was really nice and told us to go on through the express lane and tell the CM at the ride loading platform we didn't want to ride - and I didn't even ask to go on, she just said we could when she saw DS7. I guess it was because the queue was really slow that day. Guess where my DS11 was during that time - waiting outside because he didn't want to enter the dark castle. I am hoping that now that he actually knows what HP is and wants to go on all the rides, he actually *will* go inside.

That does make it tough. :( I'd probably FP ROL, RD the safari & plan for a long afternoon break, if I could.
Thanks. This has been the hardest trip to plan. We are doing HS the day we travel in which means we will probably miss sign up for Jedi training. Our plan was to rope drop HS on the 28th to do the Jedi training and then AK the rest of the day. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens.

Same here. I already had AK planned for the morning of the 22nd, FP's scheduled, and then we were planning to hop to the Studios that evening to see the Star Wars fireworks. I'm going to have to do some quick reworking of my schedule if this ever comes to fruition.

Thank you so much for posting that information, @yulilin3 - it's very helpful to at least have an idea of things! Cannot tell you how much it is appreciated! :simba:

Just to clarify to anyone looking at the two parties - It looks like you get a FP for nighttime safari for the 4/15, but not the 4/16 - is the nighttime safari still running on the second date/party do we think?
Here's what is said under 4/16: 1900-2230 EMH Style access to Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin, Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris

Here's a question: is this show really going to run 3 times per night? During the summer, it gets completely dark by let's stay 9 PM. Even with a park closure at midnight, will they really fit 3 shows with 5,000 people migrating in and out of the theater in between? Unless each show is only 10 minutes long... :crazy2:

My kids (DS11, DD9) are the opposite -- I can't get them interested in going to US to save my life!!

Then again, when they heard that The Walking Dead was going to have a permanent attraction in US Hollywood, they wanted me to book a trip there! And they have only seen a few tame clips of that show... :scared1:

we do USO HHN every year, their TWD house has been decent. Added in USH's version first last year...OMG, over-the-top acting...as can be expected in Hollywood. Loved the monsters house they used to have there too.

as for scary, that's my thing, let's just say i got fix via getting 'sprayed' by wet stuff in the slaghterhouse scene...squeeee!

Thinking sincce the attraction is going to be ready so soon, it'll basically be a permanent version of the house (which was in a tent of sorts last year). I predict USO will follow suit, other than paying 'scareactors' cheap and able to use animatronics they likely have on hand.

annoyingly, we were directed to the single ride line which was backed up almost to the lockers our last trip in feb/march...we skipped it. don't understand that wisdom if you won't be riding.

One of the many questions we have no clue about
The only thing we know with relative certainty is they will have more than 1 show most, if not all, nights.

Well we can probably do a good guess using the preview event info.

830 is the first show and 945 is the second. If it's approximately a 20 some minute show, that means they're giving it about 45 minutes to get reset.

So if they wanted 3 shows the third would start around 11.
