1) The first part is only of concern to you if you have a jailbroken or unlocked cell phone.
(if you don't understand the terms jailbreak or unlock, then no need to stress)
1a) The jailbreak/unlock scene has poured over the apple code and cannot find any evidence of this.

2) The second part, about face time, makes absolutely no sense at all. The explanation regarding wifi traffic being public is just out and out wrong (there is plenty of encryption available in the wifi stream).
Why would apple WANT to know about your "this is so cool" conversations, and where would they store the footage? These files are going to be huge.

Ultimately, the unlock scene feels this is a hoax, and has no merit.

It reads to me as a blog I used to write. Poorly written, lack of grammar, lack of citation, and above all, Credibility. If this were coming from Engadget, or Cnet, then it may merit some attention. However, after skimming over Engadget, and not seeing anything about it, I'd say ignore it as a hoax.

I must agree, this is the only place to run this story. If it did have some credibility it would have been picked up by now. Right now I will file that information under conspiracy theory until I'm proven wrong. Yes, I will then admit I was wrong. I have no problem doing so.
