RUMOR : WDW 5th Theme Park - "Disney's Night Kingdom"

i wasn't saying disney didn't have enough money in general, i was just saying they don't have the money to spend it on a park where apparently only 2000 people can get into it a night.

That is a total gross figure not net income. I work for a company that made 58 billion in 2008 but our net income was 2.4 billion after payroll expenses, shareholder dividends, advertising, paying for goods, services, maintenance, etc.

Disney has enough money for several more theme parks, if there was a need. We're talking about a company that made $30 billion dollars on consumer products alone last year. As far as I know, the Night Kingdom/Jungle Trek thing is dead... thank goodness. I have heard a rumor about the Pleasure Island buildings being turned into theme park attractions, but I really doubt it. There's not enough room there for crowd control. However, I have heard that Disney is working on a 5th park for some time in the future. According to Matt Hart at July171955.com, they are planning a real park, not a $300 dollar a ticket exclusive park like Night Kingdom/Jungle Trek. He also mentioned that it wouldn't be the Villains park. So, let the guessing begin.

Matt Hart has no more inside information than your average joe on the street. He's just another Disney fan who knows how to set up his own website (too many people like that these days) and they all need to get over themselves.

I have no more inside details than the next guy but I will guarantee you (yes, guarantee) that Disney is NOT considering building a 5th gate anytime soon in WDW. They will continue with incremental additions or renovations to their existing infrastructure over the next few years, and maybe announce something special in time for 2021 -- the 50th anniversary of MK. That's all. Night Kingdom is dead. Pleasure Island will become food and retail. That's all.

Wow, I had no idea we'd generated such anger on the internet.

You can believe or not believe what you choose, but I know the source of Matt's scoop and I happen to believe that source.

We don't exactly have a large network of sources, and heck, our main source chose to move on to a fresh audience, but we make every effort to post rumors that we find reasonably credible...which is why we almost never post rumors.

There is a certain logic to building a 5th gate versus plussing existing parks.
I personally think it's flawed, but there is a rationale.

In either case, I would guess that the reason nothing's changed is that the country took an economic nose dive.

In either case, if you'd like to tell Matt what you think of him and his website, perhaps you'd be best served to do it there.
