Seaworld has been sold to Blackstone, the group that owns half of Universal. Several other Busch entertainment groups have been sold. I wonder what impact this will have on Universal and Seaworld, or Busch Gardens.

Edit: This is only a rumor. Nothing was announced at Seaworld meeting this morning, even though it was posted in the news that there was expected to be announcement.

:woohoo: I'm so glad they bought it not someone else.Metro you predicted this 2weeks ago..

This will give the Mouse something to worry about.

I wonder if it is better to buy the 2 park 7 day unlimited tickets now, or if there will be a better option that will include Seaworld? I don't know if the 7 day ticket will soon be gone.

I don't think it will have any immediate impact but sometime next year I can see more ticket options available.

todd's in the know:thumbsup2

i remember reading that Blackstone was also interested in buying BG last year from Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks:confused3is it included in the sale?

I woudn't be surprised if they waited until close to time for HP to open and came out with an entirely new line of ticket options, as well as making some sort of announcement to merge both parks together.

Busch Entertainment is the parent for the BG parks so Tampa & Williamsburg would be included in the sale as well as Sea World, Discovery Cove and Aquatica.

Oh No! We were planning on using our free passes that Busch offers to members of the military for Sea World in April- I wonder if they'll still accept them?

I would imagine so. I wouldn't panic just yet...everyone will know more once the details are announced. Blackstone won't actually run the parks...they will just have a monetary stake. They will continue to allow the park to be run as it is now...just like Universal.

I don't think they will change them.

This should make for some very interesting advancements, I hope!

If you buy the 2 park 7 day ticket now, and should another ticket that includes Seaworld becomes available, I would expect that you will be able to upgrade the 2 park ticket to the new one. But as Metro said, it will take time before any merge between USO and SeaWorld occurs. There's also the possibility that the two parks will remain seperate.

Metro, nice prediction that this would happen!

I have another vision coming to me....

Remember the surveys done about the ticket options and everyone seemed to be upset about the price going up considerably? Well...I see a combined AP for Universal and SW which could explain why the price is a lot higher than people expect. Just a thought.

Was that the same one that spent quite a bit of time asking about thoughts on adding some sort of animal park to UO?

I don't think so...there was an email survey I got that asked all about what seemed like hundreds of different types of tickets they were thinking about. I didn't get the one about animals.

Ok, I got both then. I think one of them also had questions about changing the site layout as well.

I thought they denied this? Said today it wasn't true? :confused3

Is this for sure. Busch Entertainment/InBev hasn't officially announced anything yet (at least to their employees).
