Rumor mill: Kidani Opening Today (April 21)

Is this true? We are going to take a little walk in that direction later today to see what the deal is. On the bus ride back from the Magic Kingdom last night we were the only ones on the bus and our driver said he just found out yesterday that they are opening Kidani today and they are putting 22 brand new buses into service just for that resort. That is quite hopeful as I was concerned we would have to take the leftover room on the bus from Jambo House, I am glad they are planning separate services. Well that's the rumor anyway! Time for me to get ready for our last day in the park. I'm thinking studios, i'd like to do toy story once more. It was fun but not 60 minute wait fun and the fastpasses go fast!

I believe it may have opened up to Cast Members today. I thought someone had posted this info over the weekend saying Kidani would open before May 1st to Cast Members. This is Disney's way of getting the resort started by running through their processes and making corrections along the way before it opens to guests on May 1st.

I think this is a great Idea, I would rather have them work out all of the plumbing and electrical issues that are common with new construction before actual members start arriving.

22 Buses would work out to 4 for each of the parks and DTD/waterparks plus a couple floaters. Seems about right given the size of the resort opening. I doubt they'll be dedicated just to Kidani though - it's not that hard to swing by the second stop once they're there already.

The word is they'll be stopping at Kidani first then Jambo on the way to the parks, but DTD will be opposite.

ETA: that's going to be one busy driveway once Kadani is filled with families. I hope most people do take advantage of the buses to keep the roads as quiet as possible.

They are having what is called an "Open Mouse" today. An open house for cast members.
Cast memeber will be staying there for overnight visits starting this week. This is not an official opening....more like a trial run.

And the busses will be running Cast Members over to the Treehouse Villlas at SSR also for an "Open Mouse". There is no parking at the Treehouse Villas, so CM's will be shuttled over from DAKL.

Never before have I wish so hard I were a CM. Sounds like a lot of fun!
