Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

So this could mean nothing or it could mean something, but I figured I’d mention it since we are analyzing everything for meaning, lol. I check resorts for our upcoming stay to see if I can switch out for a better rate quite frequently (too frequently) and I noticed a marked change in availability today. I noticed no availability at all (even rack) for CR for any room through mid September and no club level at any resort through the end of August/Sept 1. This a marked change from yesterday when nearly everything was available.
That would make sense to stop club level with the food offering.

I don’t think they’d block off entire floors and lose out on the lucrative cL reservation. They may change how they offer the amenities, but I don’t think they’d just close off those rooms. We’ve always though we’d end up dropping our CL stay and made a back reservation to replace it just in case. I don’t see CL being what it was for quite some time. But, there are a lot of people who book it for more than just the food. There’s a thread about it on the resorts forum.

In a worst case situation they would just close the lounges and the CL floors would just be bookable as regular rooms. It has happened before but I don't expect it to get that bad this year.

Can someone post pictures of the inside of the shops in the HP sections of Universal? Those shops tend to be really cramped inside, so I wonder what changes they're making to them to allow for more social distancing.

Up to today I was able to modify my stay in late August. Yesterday I was playing with adjusting how many days our stay would be to get an idea of how much we would save. Now it says I have to call to make those changes.

Can‘t yet as the park doesn’t open for another week.

I also wonder if Disney will expedite plans based on Universal opening so soon. I'm now seeing rumors of an 8/31 opening. Will Disney really go for a whole summer closed when their biggest competitor is open?
There’s one rumor with an opening of 8/31 that came from a poster on another website.

Is the substantiated by anything or just somebody's opinion?
The person claims to have “sources”, but from what others have said on here this person has been hit or miss in the past. I personally wouldn’t put much stock in what was written. I think we’ll probably hear more in the coming week. I don’t think Disney is going to let it go too long without making a statement one way or another with Universal opening on June 5.

Posting this here from a source of mine...

The NBA deal could push the WDW opening for the public back...

DVC could open for members before the parks.

Disney is very much still looking to open the parks one at a time.

I think this NBA deal could very well make people extra frustrated. Just be prepared.

Someone’s opinion he’s been spreading for many weeks, nothing new. He did try and claim it was the first time he shared the aug date, but he was “ mistaken”. lol He also claims DLR is not being maintained and is overrun with rats,so there’s that....

All sounds right. Disney is going to be laser focused on the NBA and MLS deals right now and won’t be rushing to reopen the parks. Get the revenue on ESPN and ABC and betting opening DVC properties. Then work on the parks as the summer progresses.

I have been thinking that since they have said there was interest in WDW. Disney gets money coming in and it will help with the mess that is DVC right now. By the time they are ready to open the parks they may be able to lax some restrictions.

You could have warned me I needed to pop some popcorn instead of cooking dinner. popcorn::

I don’t know why this concept is mocked so much. People can’t seem to separate this line of thinking from the thought that Disney would keep the parks closed to keep unwashed masses off property when NBA is there, which is not what many people are speculating.

I think many are getting frustrated cause they have reservations booked and Disney isn't saying anything. If that does happen with the NBA many will be really upset.

Am I the only one who translates that WDW Pro post like this...

“I made a bunch if predictions a while back claiming that I had insider information. Now it’s obvious that those predictions will not come true, so I’m going to change my predictions and use known circumstances as the reason behind my changed predictions so that nobody realizes that I don’t actually have a reliable insider source”

I mean c’mom. Does anybody really think that Josh D’Amaro gives a hoot that one of the mall cops had to stop somebody from cooking hotdogs? I assure you that he has bigger problems at the moment. He’s not worrying about the stuff that can be solved by the local security staff. What a bunch of baloney. Both the original “secure circuit” post and the second “change of direction” post. LOL
