Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

There’s pretty good distance between the tables.
It's really more the singing that is the problem. CDC released a pretty unhappy MMWR recently that discussed virus spread via singing. The tables would have to be very far away from the stage, and not sure how to protect the CMs from each other unless they are all in the same household.

Well, they could test the singers....

That's not really how internal temperatures work though so you shouldn't be worried. Our bodies are designed to regulate our internal temperatures regardless of the external temp and unless something is wrong with your body, your internal temp shouldn't vary more than 1 degree or so. For example, we still swim in pools that are set to temperatures lower than 90 degrees, but if our internal body temperature fell below 96 degrees we would be considered to have mild hypothermia and a degree or two more would mean we were in a life-threatening situation. Even on a blistering hot and humid Florida summer day, you would have a lot more to worry about healthwise if your temperature rose above 100.4 degrees on the walk from the car to the gates than not being allowed into the park.

If you have a temperature above 100.4 degrees, regardless of whether its due to COVID, that is a sign your body is not well and its probably best not to put it through a day at a Disney park anyways. Some might see it as an unfair or arbitrary or even paternalistic policy, but health professionals have suggested that cutoff because 100.4 degrees is an internal temperature that has concerning health implications no matter what the cause.
Except they aren't taking true internal temps. My daughter has been sent home from daycare on a few occasions because she crossed 100.4 temporally. When I checked her rectally just after it was 98.4 ...

Forehead thermometers aren't very accurate, and the problem is they're actually 1/2 a degree to a full degree LOWER than your actual body temperature. So you could register 99.4, be allowed in, but you're actually at 100.4. And then of course some people will be let in who are asymptomatic - they'll have COVID but no fever. That's a huge concern.

That's why the need for masks unfortunately

My digital read thermometer (goes under tongue) at home had me at 96.9 yesterday (normal for that). An hour later at dentist with the forehead thermometer I was 98.8.

I know I didn't have an almost 100 degree fever because whenever I've had that I am achey and knocked out, so I don't think they are a half to full degree lower than actual body temp.

Here's where I got the info:

My germaphobe soul can see little glitches in the way this could possibly go wrong at Disney Springs but it is impressive. I didn't know if they could pull it off.

My squeamishness is going to be the hand-held thermometers and people touching everyone's bags for security. I don't want the thermometer to accidentally touch my face or to wonder about someone's germs on my bag.
Has anyone mentioned what they will do about fingerprint scanners?

I share your concern about bag check. I have purchased a clear, stadium approved crossbody bag just for park use. It’s big enough to hold my wallet, phone (which will go in a ziplock bag each morning), hand wipes and extra masks. They should easily be able to see every item without opening the bag and since it’s plastic, I can wipe it down with one of the wipes after passing through security. I would assume there will be a hand sanitizer station just past the tapstiles on the way in to the parks. As to the thermometers, we will just have to stand very still. I don’t think they will get any closer than necessary for the sake of their own health, but I could see a thermometer bumping if we move unexpectedly while they do the reading.

98.8 F is normal body temp...

98.8 isn’t almost 100 degrees though, it’s basically normal.

Read the post I quoted, that's what I was responding to.

poster I was replying to said that forehead thermometers are a half to full degree lower than actual body temp.
So that would mean my temp was 99.8....

anyone have anything to say about last weeks dis unplugged episode where people (who are actually getting paid) won’t go cover the Disney springs opening?? But volunteers will?

I think that speaks volumes.
Says the the same as here on the boards... some are all in and willing to go and some are hesitant or apprehensive. Nothing more.. nothing less.
