Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Just get the dang x-ray scanners like Universal, or at the very least, the CMs need to be spraying a hand sanitizer on their gloves between guests' bags.
I really wonder if changes will be made to bag check as a result of this. I hope so. It’s always bothered me having someone touching everything in my bag, but at this point, it would make me really uncomfortable to have someone who’s just touched the stuff of everyone in the crowd ahead of me then going through my bag and touching all of my stuff. I wish it were possible for me to go bagless, but my daughter has medical needs so a bag is a necessity. I wonder if they would still insist on going through my bag if I used a clear stadium-approved bag. Has anyone tried this? I really wish Disney would just get x-ray machines. The bag check and buses are my big issues. I can always take a Minnie Van and eliminate my bus usage, but there’s no way around the bag check line.

American changed my flight to FL from 9AM to 1:30PM and didn't even notify my. I stumbled on the change when I was looking up something else on their website. I get that they have to consolidate flights right now, but really no email notification? :confused3

American Airlines changed my flight to Orlando from a Wednesday 11am to TUESDAY at 6 am. I’m hoping they will check with my boss for the extra day off too. Oh and no email.

I understand that. It doesn't have to be concrete but at this point they know what they are doing with June, at least the first few weeks of it
But they don’t know.

They could be open, limited opening or not at all. They need more data from DS partial opening, state approvals to open and data from DLS

AA did the same to me! No notification and my flight changed from getting in at 6a on 7/7 to 11:30p on 7/6! I need to call and book a different flight, but kinda waiting to hear if there are any opening plans this week. They cancelled all direct flights from LAX until 7/7 last week, so I am thinking they know something (totally speculation, but I think WDW might open after 7/4 weekend).

Out of curiosity, I asked my close family member, that is an airline VP, about this. They said flights are cancelling because there isn’t a demand. They got into a lot more technical stuff I can’t remember, but long story short, Disney doesn’t give them a heads up that they won’t be opening.

But that wrecks my conspiracy theory?!? 🤣

Honestly I think my end of June the us will be in the screw it open everything up like normal phase. Not sure that is what we should do but I think my July we’ll be back to normal mainly so football and the like can start and just roll the dice.

so I think Disney prepping for a July 1 opening would be best. By then I think they can open with little pushback. Right or wrong I think we’ll be back to normal by the.

It’s because Universals X-ray machines look industrial while Disney has more of a personal feeling to it. I’d prefer the x-ray machines, but they just have a look that I dont think Disney wants. But with the checks at the TTC and the resorts instead of right in front of MK’s gates, it wouldnt kill any “magic”.
Disney could very easily Disney-Fy x-ray machines if they wanted. Add some kinda story to bags going on their own little adventure or something

In Disneyland Paris there are x-ray machines for years now. It`s easy, quick and efficient. Also it gives me a hive when the security guard dig in my backpack and touches everything even my food. I do have a couple of auto immune conditions one of them requires a lot of medication, special food (I can`t get in the parks). Unfortunately I`m not superman and can`t go without food for 10-12 hours in the parks :) it just not safe to touch ones personal item than the next ones...

I don`t think any magic would be killed with machines even close to Magic Kingdom. Given the virus it would be the best time to bring in those x-ray machines!

You can already see the wheels in motion that football is starting on time, no ifs ands or buts. Owners coming out saying they expect fans in the seats in week 1.Every other sport is struggling (other than golf) to convince their players on a plan. The NFL doesn’t seem like they’re going to take “no” for an answer

I think what Disney once thought about June 1st, they now penciled off for July 1st. They tried very hard to open June 1st, I’m convinced of that for many reasons without them having to say it out loud. But they just couldn’t make it work. July 1st gives them more breathing room to work with. Maybe they try to open a week or two before, which because they’re not cancelling reservations far ahead of time makes it easier to adjust on the fly. They could conceivably come out on June 11th and say they’re opening on June 22nd.

I think the states rushing to open up (Florida included) might ruin that. Beaches were packed this weekend. If we see a wave of infectiom because people aren't responsible enough to follow the guidleines, governors will have to tighten things up again

If anyone is interested in how they are operating at Shanghai, this is a great twitter follow:

a few highlights/notes:

They did the parade, but a shortened version:

Character meets are being done from a distance (at least this group of characters):

Loading for Pirates - every other row:

Tron queue - with social distancing markers on the floor: Reminder, the boxes are where to NOT stand (that keeps throwing me as I would think that should be where you do stand)

I think the days of Disney security guards pilfering through everyone’s bags, touching everything are over. Or at least they should be.

So, I read his perspective and I think he made valid points (about the flaws in the system that could lead to infection spread) but I also think the first day will always have kinks that have to be worked out and I'd be more interested to know what it looks like in a week or two once they've had more practice with actual crowds versus VIPs demonstrating how everything is supposed to operate.
