I for one... Will not go back as long as these are in place... SAD SAD SAD!!!!!No one knows yet.
IMO the likely hood of that happening is nearing zero - they are following the CDC guidance. The social distancing won't be relaxed until there in a therapeutic or a vaccine. Just my 2 cents. If it looks like a lot of restrictions will be lifted in the fall, could be a very busy fall, but if a lot of these restrictions are still in place? A lot of people will just wait until 2021.
I they were hoping for an opening in June and it being "normal" by July, they were fooling themselves. My vacation is planned for November and I don't think it will be "normal" by then! If people bail out, so much better for Disney. They will have to keep attendance down in July anyway.THIS -- Disney is going to have a ton of cancellations on their hands of people who were hoping they would open in May/June and have July/August be "normal". I just don't see a lot of people finding it worth spending Disney vacation money for a reduced and inconvenient experience. But who knows .. demand could be higher than expected. Some people may not care what is/isn't open at the parks.
It's sad . .but it is what it is. Even if they opened in June . not sure a lot of people would be willing to go with the reduced experiences. I know I wasn't.
We all will live vicariously to the local guinea pigs and vloggers, this summer.
Like the the meet and greets, wonder how social distancing will effect the Halloween parties? can't really give out candy if you have to remain 6 feet apart
Yeah, if some people cancel on their own, that will probably be better for Disney in the long run....I they were hoping for an opening in June and it being "normal" by July, they were fooling themselves. This. We have reservations July 25-Aug 2. Fastpasses were made yesterday. Some of us have APs, some don't. This is our 3rd try at a trip, we were supposed to be there now. Rebooked for June with free dining for the non AP holders and then had to rebook for July and lost the free dining. Now it looks like no park hopping which we do a lot. My kids are all adults and no grandkids yet so no characters, parades and fireworks were not deal breakers for us. I can't see my kids wasting thousands on the reduced and inconvenient experience though. I was hoping Disney would have been open for over a month to work out the bugs but alas, it was not meant to be. I'm in the wait and see camp as to what to do.THIS -- Disney is going to have a ton of cancellations on their hands of people who were hoping they would open in May/June and have July/August be "normal". Same. I had a March 13-22 and a June 15-24 as well.I just cancelled July 25 trip. Not interested in spending thousands to be a guinea pig!!

I feel bad for people renting DVC points.
If this is the "new normal" people aren't going to be spending the big money to come to Florida and vacation to Disney. They'll go back to more regional vacations - state parks, beaches, local amusements. I know people who are already planning that for this summer -- buying boats, buying campers, etc.Just how long will all these guidelines stay in place? If all this goes away or a vaccine is made will things go back to normal or is this gonna be the new normal????![]()
Seriously. I called my dad at work to tell him the news and knew he'd be bummed. Ended it with, "But the good news is, you're not a Disney cast member taking guest phone calls today! They are going to have the worst day ever."All I get is "all circuits are busy now" when trying to call to cancel our July trip...yikes. I'm not even upset, but I feel terrible for cm who may be dealing with upset people.
One plus for us is that we don't do fireworks or parades or meet greets. My son was so offended by it last time we tried![]()
