Well we had our rummage sale last weekend, I do two a year to sell summer/winter stuff!! I sold mostly clothes only a couple things for $10. everything else was clothes and little stuff! although I do have cute namebrand stuff! I always hang on hangers etc. we also made krispie treats and cookies, made $20 in this (split with my mom in half since we did them together) Anyhow! My total was $200 for friday, I thought for sure I was done lol but no I sold $175 on Saturday!! Not bad considering I didn't think I had much left on saturday! I guess I did, I came home with about 1/3 what I took!! yay!!! I put $300 on my plane tickets!! And after I get paid this friday I should only owe like $100!! I wish I could have another rummage lol:-) My goal is to have this paid off by the end of October, hopefully sooner, then onto saving for the hotel!! So far things are going smoothly and as planned!!

Thats great!!!.. Congrats...

I've been wanting to do a garage sale lately and have been getting things together and I have a pretty big stack in the garage.. but there is very few garage sales in my neighborhood for some reason.. I did a few over the last year at my old house 2 streets over but we moved about 6 months ago.. There is a huge flea market closeby our house and I think I am going there in a few weeks.. It costs a little more to get a space vs getting a permit but ALOT more people go there, so I think my chances are good to sell some of this stuff.. I cant wait..

Thats great. Making money and clearing out the house! I had mine last weekend on a fri and sat. and made $405 total. ! others in the sale also made $120. So we all did good. They only had a little in the sale.

We're planning a block sale in a few weeks (there's about 7 houses participating) and to plan advertise in our local paper. Do you have any ideas that you use to better sell what you have out there?

My mom made around $350 in our sale, my brother around $75, My sister5 $25. But my brother and sister barely had anything, my sister only a couple things! I hang all my clothes on hangers on racks, walmart has cheap racks! My dad also madea big rack for adult clothes. I also find that if you price the stuff to sell it will sell, think what you'd pay for the stuff, great signs are a must, and this was a city wide rummage so we always do pretty good, this year was our best. so having your block rummage will be good. If you have name brand clothes advertise that, but only if you have a lot, I hate going to a rummage saying name brand and then it's just stuff from kohl's or carter's, although some carter's is expensive but not those rompers and such. another rule of thumb is price at 10% of the value, subtract for fading, add for tags. Stuffed toys usually have to be priced cheap. I also find having the rummage on two days is better. friday and saturday the best, sundays here are horrible! any other questions? oh this past june before we moved I sold a bunch of bigger stuff and made another $400 however we weren't going to disney then so we just spent that money:-( lol

I'm getting ready to do a church sale this weekend. At least, I'm supposed to be instead of being here. :teeth: Anyway, I mark the stuff, drop it off at the church, they sell it and keep 30%. Anything left there when I pick up my check, we drop off at Goodwill on the way home.

I like it this way, I don't have to have the sale myself. At our old house, we'd be busy from open until close. Our new house is on a street that is way at the back of our subdivision way at the back of town. Not a lot of people come back here. At the church, my stuff gets seen by hundreds of people over two days.

I usually get about $150-200 and I don't have to put much time in it. And I get rid of stuff in the house.

Good luck to everybody on their sales!

That's great! I'm participating in a neighborhood yard sale this week....T-F-S. My SIL is going to bring some of her stuff over, too. :)
