Rum Point Beach Adventure

Then under additional info, it states that it's only 2.5 hours if on Fantasy due to limited time in port.

Why is the port time limited due to being on the Fantasy.

I want to do this excursion, but not for 2.5 beach hours.

Although there is only 2.5 hours at the beach, we actually enjoyed the Rum Point Beach Adventure a lot when we did it a few years ago. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the catamaran, another hour to sail to Rum Point, 2.5 hours on the beach with a decent lunch and then another hour back to the catamaran dock followed by the bus ride back to port.

I've stayed on Rum Point as a destination vacation for a week & also done an excursion there during a cruise. It is still my favorite place, by far, especially considering other options in Cayman. Don't waste your time on the turtle farm or seven mile beach. Rum Point & potentially sting ray city on the way to rum Point would be my advice.

When I went, lunch at Rum Point was included during the beach time. And I could spend way more than 2.5 hours at rum point. It is pure paradise & not crowded with tourists.

I'm not sure what the details are on this exact one. But when I went, it included a stop at Stingray City, a stop for snorkeling, & the stop at Rum Point. So it was a really evenly spread out day. It didn't feel too long at all to me. The boat ride over was like 30-45 minutes, maybe? But that seemed to fly by, too.

So I just looked at the descriptions on the Disney website. If I were you, I'd definitely choose the one that includes stingray city. Run Point is the iconic, swing in a hammock, relax & drink & swim type place. So doing it without the stingray city portion may be a long time on the beach. But breaking it up with going to see the stingrays would be great.

Also know that pretty much everything you could choose to do (besides a day resort pass on a beach at seven mile beach) will require some travel in cayman. And that's where the true beauty is, I think, a little but away from the touristy port.

Do you have to tender and then take another boat? This is my first experience with a tender port and I'm trying to wrap my head around it.

Yes, you have to tender just to get off the ship in Cayman. But that only takes less than 5 minutes. Then you'll ride in an open air bus to the dock where the catamaran is to get to rum point. The boat rides are often my very favorite part.

I also love the sailing back & forth part the very most, too.

I found some video of sailing on the catamaran and that looks like fun. I think my kids will love that.

the whole process might take 30 minutes if you are first on the tender, waiting for it to fill and/or its departure time. The actual boat ride is very short. And no, they can't go more frequently - because they "only" use the "hatches" on one side of the boat. Sometimes both forward and aft ones, sometimes just the Mid Ship one. There are usually tenders loading / unload at the ship - that's why the tender(s) at the dock wait - nowhere to dock next to the ship until the other boats leave.

I just meant the distance, by boat, from the ship when it's anchored, to the dock in Cayman is just minutes.
