I encouraged my friend to post her April reservation that she couldn't make on the disboards rent/trade. She did and received this message (She didn't read the rules first
)
An existing reservation cannot be offered by any means until 30 days prior to the Reservation's Check-In date. This includes submitting a "Reservation for Rent" thread, posting a reply to a "Reservation Wanted" thread or any other use of the DISboards to contact another user in order to offer that reservation. We allow existing reservations to be offered only when a member is within 30 days of check in and the points would go into the "Holding" account if the reservation was cancelled. Additional rules apply when offering an existing reservation in response to a "Reservation Wanted" thread and are explained below.
I am wondering why this rule exists, can anyone explain this to me. She then misunderstood and thought she just couldn't post the exact dates of the trip and re-posted without the dates. Then she got a 10 point penalty and hasn't got a clue what that means. Leave it to her to get in this much trouble
