Rule of Four Question

Hi everyone,

If my use year is December (booking/banking window of Dec 1 to July 31), I know I can't book and travel on any Disney Collection, Concierge, Adventurer, etc, BUT am I allowed to book a DVC stay for say, Sunday, September 4th? I am just confused if the Rule of Four applies to the afore-mentioned collections only or if it applies to DVC bookings as well.

Any help is appreciated.

Does not apply to DVC resorts. The only limitations to DVC resorts is the use of holding points.

I also have a question regarding Rule of Four. I am a DVC newbie. I am interested in the 2012 DVC member cruise. Wanted to use some of my points (which were bought direct) to book. My question is, what if my Rule of 4 is in effect when they allow bookings? Do I have to wait until I am out of that time frame, and then probably only be able to get on the waitlist? My UY is Feb. When do they normally start booking for the member cruises? No worries if I do not get on the 2012 Member Cruise, we are booked on the Fantasy in Dec. 2012 on a cash ressie. I just wanted to know how it works regarding the Rule of 4 and the member cruise booking window.

the rule of 4 just means that you cannot BOTH book AND travel during the last 4 months of your UY.

for one example, if you have banked pts from 2010, you can book a sept 2012 cruise with them in late 2011 if they allow bookings. but last minute trading out from DVC to the disney collection during the last 4 months of your UY is not an option.
