Well, DS has been watching Rugby (you guys are awesome!!) and now would love to have a Jersey.

Does anyone know if they sell them in the shops at Epcot or were they just the soccer jerseys? I could buy it on line but I think it would be more fun to get it at WDW.

DS is asking me if he can play........I guess there is a league that the guys from his school play in........looks a little rough::yes::

Thanks for any info.

Thank You! Got it shirt not jersey........sorry I have a soccer player as well:)

Laurie I got mine from Cotton Traders , they seem to be the cheapest and do pretty good shirts/jerseys. The new kit ( as worn in the world cup) is VERY expensive and not that durable because it's designed to be skin tight ( not much give in it) I would suggest going for the older style, more tradional cotton ones as they are 1) MUCH cheaper and 2) don't rip anywhere near as easily.

I would say with rugby vs American football , the most important things a rugby coach can teach the younger kids is to tackle properly and drum into them that they have less protection than in grid iron. I often feel that the "hits' in american football, while looking spectacular, are more dangerous than those in rugby due to the confidence that the pads and helmet install in the players. Because of this you get a higher ratio of neck and spine compression injuries in your football than you do in rugby. I guess its a bit like a car and wearing a seat belt (not I'm suggesting people throw away their seat belts) . But if you have a crash at 30 mph you're safer with the seatbelt, but if having the belt on makes you feel that you're safe to drive at 70 mph and have an accident it's likely that 70 with a belt will cause more damage than 25 without. Poor analogy I know, but I hope it kinda explains it.

More and more schools in the US are taking up rugby as it is a similar game to football, IMHO more fun to play, allows a greater range of shapes, allows/requires a number of different abilities but most important to the schools it's a hell of a lot cheaper program to run.

Thanks so much for the reply! My son plays high school football and I agree totally with your perspective.

By the way here where we live you had to purchase on T.V. the right to view rugby games live. So when I was talking about you winning to my DS the final match had not aired yet, he said I spoiled the whole thing for him:confused: Thank goodness he was laughing about it and enjoyed reading about it here on the DIS.:D

Thanks Again.
