Rude Walmart experience

My doc does know! I was on Lopressor but was having irreg heartbeat so they switched me to enalapril and it does decrease blood pressure--she is trying to adjust it so it works without the side effects

Are you passing out when you stand up, when you exercise or all the flippin time?

I was just wondering if there is more to the story with Wal Mart.

I haven't seen a post from the OP in a long, long while. It is weird, but I had an issue w/ Wal Mart as of late, so her title caught my eye.

I think about the OP and worry about her children often. Her previous posts have always stuck with me

I don't think that Wal-mart did the wrong thing (and that's something coming from a hardcore Wal-Mart hater). However, I don't see what any of your discussion, Hentob, has to do with anything. Whether or not the OP can or cannot drive is fairly unimportant to how Wal-mart did or did not treat her husband. I don't know either of you but it sounds like some people dislike the OP and are using this thread to carry out a vendetta of sorts and it all seems rather childish. That's my piece.

Umm--I think her driving had a ton to do with how Wal Mart treated her DH. I am guessing when he said she didn't have a license, they thought maybe he was fibbing Who knows. But, to me, it felt like it was a part of the story that was sort of glossed over. To me, that part mattered. People try to scam the employees all the time.

You may feel that OP isn't being entirely truthful but her medical situation is really no one else's business. I'm sure you wouldn't want your medical history put out on the net for all to see. Furthermore, her health care is between her and her doctor. Express concern, suggest she notify her doctor if something doesn't souond right but she has NO OBLIGATION to answer to you regarding how her medical situation is being handled.

How about everyone take a deep breath and take some advice from Thumper "If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all."

We all have had issues with retailers and during the holiday season, it's more frustrating when you have a hassle. You also get quite emotional about the idea of having your kids' holiday ruined.

BTW, in case y'all missed it; OP is a military wife. As a former navy wife stationed in a small community, I can attest to the fact that sometimes Walmart or other less than popular stores are the only local option for shopping. (Back in 1993 it was a huge event when a K-Mart opened in the town next to our base, until then, we had the on base store with very limited selection and Walmart.)

Happy Holidays to all DISsers! And a huge thank you to all the military families here for all their sacrifices. I'm hoping all their active duty loved ones are safe through the season.

While the patronizing tone in your response warns me not to respond, I'll bite. If you felt it was so important, there was a way to bring it up without flat out calling the OP a liar or bringing previous posts into the equation. It is possible to disagree and play nice.

To get back to the discussion at hand, I would think they would have still refused to give her husband the layaways irregardless of whether or not they thought he was "fibbing". You think differently?

Mouse-I appreciate your kind words! And it is true=All we have here is Walmart and the PX since they closed Sears! For anything else we need to drive into the city and that's not always feasible with DH's hours--He works Mids and between that,training,PT plus the fact they don't have to give him anything except 4 hours a day off to sleep going into the city isn't going to happen!
I try to stick to the PX for as much as possible!

His tone when he went in would have been the same as always! He is in a leader position where he deals with people every day and for being in the Army he is very nonconfrontational--That is why he called me

His mood was happy! He was excited to be going to pick up the presents for the kids-He was Santa picking up his spoils!!

There was a line which DH had to wait in so the cashier probably wasn't in the best mood before he even made it up to the counter!

No where on the receipt or hanging up on the walls does it say that Walmarts policy is noone can pick it up except the one who put it on!

As for saying kindness and honesty goes a loooooong way-The cashier had no reason to assume DH was lying--heck he tried to think of ways for her to prove he wasn't!!--And the whole kindness thing would work here as well!

You yourself said you had an issue with Walmart and that was your reason for cracking this thread--So by your estimate of my post then YOU did something wrong to cause the treatment you received!!

Actually, I was wrong. I went in to Wal Mart hungry and grouchy. I wasn't the nicest. And they weren't nice back. Looking at the situation, I could have done things differently.

well in MY experiences with Wal*Mart i was pretty happy both times, and they were still rude to me.

maybe it's a requirement when they hire employees......"must be rude to people"

I never really had a problem with them before today--Like someone brought up my mom works there so if there is something that is needed and I'm right there it doesn't make any sense to drive somewhere else-Plus it isn't that often that we shop there so when DH called I was surprised and mad

i think it's just my Wal*Mart. its in a bad part of town and people are just always miserable in there.
