I had been thinking about selling my timeshare so I sent a couple of e-mails to a some resale companies just to get some basic information. For instance, who pays the commission and so forth. One "gentleman" called me and was very business like until I told him I was not certain if I would sell it, but I wanted just some basic info so If I decided to sell I would know what was required. He told me to get back in touch with him later and not to waste his time until I was sure! He then said that I shouldn't waste people's time by sending e-mails if I wasn't interested. I thought this was so rude and told him so. I had forgot which company he was with and asked him to please tell me the company he is associated with. He then said to me, " Who the hell do you think you are?" I hung up because I was so shocked! I can't believe a reputable agency would be like this??? I have an idea which agency it was because I only sent out two emails. But I really wasn't expecting a reaction like this. Is it me?

OMG, that is awful! No, it is very rude of him. Try hitting *69 on your phone and seeing if it will give you the number (if you don't already have caller ID). If you get the number, I'd call back and complain to his supervisor.

just an *** and I wouldn't give him a second thought...or my business.

Actually, I did *69 and when he answered he just said "Hello"? I am wondering if this person was on the up and up or working from home??

This reminds me of a situation we went through. When we first got married and had a baby that was just beginning to crawl, we contacted a young relator and asked him to show us some fixer-uppers we could live in while we fixed them. He showed us houses that were falling down, or smelled of animal urine, or windows broken out and floors rotting out. After seeing a few of these places and telling him we could not live in anything he had yet shown us, could he show us something acceptable to live in....he said what you were told, "you are wasting my time. Don't waste any realtor's time and call back when you are really ready to buy." I was shocked and very angry. I told DH I did not recall telling him we were looking for a dog house to live in with our baby! I think people like them must just be so desperate for a sale that they must not realize how rude they are being! :confused3

A good, reputable agent would never behave in this fashion. They know that a good part of the business involves dealing with people who aren't necessarily going to buy or sell. Frustrating and time consuming? Yes, but that's part of the job. It's also one of the major reasons I'd never make a good agent (as *many* friends have suggested I would) because I wouldn't have the patience to "play the game".

If you wrote down the number when you did the *69 do a reverse search for the number online or have a friend call the number and when he answers simply have them ask a real estate type question. Then have them simply say a friend referred them and ask what company he is with currently.

if you do have the number - you could also go to anywho.com and do a reverse look up - doesn't always work, but is worth a try!!! Good luck! :sunny:
