Rude Disney CM... beware!!!

I just booked my disney vacation today through a travel agent and decided I would try my luck to see if any discount codes are attached to my name without me knowing as some have found out on here.

I first spoke to a lady named (removed) who was INCREDIBULY rude... she laughed at me and and asked if this was some kind of joke. Then she said "you can't be serious can you".. and then put me on hold. She came back and said... there's no way to look and I'd have to get something mailed to me.

The second time I called... a MUCH nicer lady answered... however she said the travel agent would have to call on my behalf.

whew... I guess with the excitement I just experienced.. I'm glad I booked through a travel agent... they seem to have more magic than the Disney people you speak to. :sad2:
 
There is a way they can check, because when I went this past Nov., they are the ones who told me I had gotten a postcard. I had no idea :confused3 It sounds like this CM didn't want to do any work. I know whenever I get someone on the phone that I don't like, I'll call back to get someone else.
 
There is no excuse for rudeness, but there have been a few postings here recently where people have booked through a travel agent and then called Disney to ask for changes, discounts, etc. That doesn't work, because you must go through your agent once you have booked with them. Disney is not allowed to make any changes to a travel agents booking so it is useless to call them about it.
 
We called Disney several times and made the reservations ourselves (saved 850 bones) and they were extremelly helpful. Even when changing the resort and adding the dining plan!!! She even had to modify the computer so it would accomidate our stay. It was a very easy and I can't believe pleasant experience :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:
 

Well, it's unfortunate that (name removed) wasn't more personable or helpful but I don't feel it's a fair statement to say the Disney people don't have magic. I've always had decent CM's.

Once again the reason why I don't book through a TA is that I like full control over my reservation. However if I ever was to book with a TA I would book through Dreams Unlimited. I always hear good things about them. :flower:
 
wow sounds like the lady I got last month. I posted it on the board here. I think its awful some are like that.
 
the way he told it...you can see a code next to a name only if you plug in dates for a trip...so if you call and ask is there a code next to my name...they won't be able to tell unless they put specific dates and length of stay for pricing...then they can see it. That's what I was told...so maybe next time put in the dates check availability then just say, "Oh, that's so much more than we were expecting to pay....any discounts available?" or "My mother got a post card rate and we just moved....any chance to find out if we might have gotten a rate?" Ya just have to be a little ignorant and polite and you might get help.

Trixie should have politely told you to contact your TA as she could not help you.
 
It is a shame to get a rude CM. But like everywhere else, these are real people working with thier own personalities. Did you know that when you have a great CM on the phone (of which there are many!) you can ask to be transfered to a special pixie dust recording line to tell the supervisors about how you were treated. I've done it three times - all for Great CMS. I suppose you could do the same thing to a rude one.
 
I find it interesting that you mentioned the one that was rude by name, but didn't mention the name of the one that was good. Too often we chastise the bad, but don't praise the good. It's very unfortunate that Trixie was having a bad day, but there are thousands of CM's that are awesome, and as a rule go over the top. Please don't forget them.
