Rude behavior at the parks last week

We went to the Happiest Place On Earth last week and had a great time! Other than the unexpected heat wave and some rude behavior.

We went to F! An hour early to stake out a spot. While family waited I went to Bengal BBQ to pick up some good eats. The line moves slow, and when it was finally my turn a man wonders up to the open cashier. He motions something with his hands so I figure he is asking for a lid or something. The cashier asks if he was in line and he says "yes". Come to find out he ordered a coffee. The cashier asks if he has an AP (for a discount) and he pulled it out. (I say this because it was not an honest mistake by someone not in the know that there is a line.) A lady a few people behind me said "Sir, there was a line." He says "Yeah, my daughter was in it." She replies "No she wasn't, I watched you walk up from over there." After he leaves the cashier and I wonder up she asked me if he cut in front of me. I stated he had, along with all of the other people in line. She apologized and I assured her I knew it wasn't her fault. When I was leaving he was at the condiment station with his son getting sugar. The food was worth the hassle though!

Then there were the line cutters in the security check and on Buzz. The place they were cutting in line on Buzz must be common because I witnessed different people break open the rope in the same spot on two different occasions. One time my son got kind of caught up with the group of line cutters and I stated loudly "Son, wait for the line cutters." One replied back "Go ahead" motioning with her hand. I said she might as well go with the rest of the group of 10 people that but in line.

None of that, nor the scorching heat, kept us from having a wonderful, magical time! :wizard: Thanks to all of the tips and advice we recieved on this board! :wizard:It has been 4 years since we were at Disneyland before this trip. I plan on making sure it isn't that long before we go back again.

Always so frustrating when people are like that, but maybe the coffee guy tripped and broke his ankle later ;)

Glad it didn't ruin your trip.

I dislike the rude guests at security. I've heard the CMs tell people numerous times that even though they don't have a bag, they can't just push past the people getting checked.

Once, I got through security and was waiting out of the path for my friend to go through, and this lady kept gesturing to her husband to just go around the person he was behind. She was obviously getting frustrated, as she kept calling him an idiot as he gestured "They're getting checked, what can I do?" She was starting to make a bit of a scene, if only to me because I was standing right by her, but I really, reallllllly wanted to tell her that he was in the right, but I couldn't bring myself to be that mean or rude.

I love when people can just put little things like that to the side and not let it become a major influence on the trip as a whole. Glad it didn't ruin your trip at all! Some people don't have manners and are only thinking of themsleves, which is super annoying.
But I'm glad to hear you kept a positive view on the whole trip, and didn't let some selfish line cutters ruin it!

I have had a few frustrating thing happen as well, but I learned that these little things can sometimes be turned to your advantage. Example:

My son and I had a fastpass for Indiana Jones which we had been trying to use all day. With breakdowns and long lines it didn't happen until late, but we finally made it. We were seated in the second row of the car with a younger group of hispanics in front of us. I'm not sure if they couldn't understand the rules of just didn't care, but one of the guys in the front seat held up his video camera THE ENTIRE RIDE! With that little blue screen burning my retinas out in the, at times, very dark ride. I spoke loudly about 3 times that no cameras were allowed but he, again, didn't understand or didn't care. But it really ruined the ride for me and my son... So on the way out I mentioned it to a CM and asked why they allow that as I'm sure they can see whats going on with the security cameras. The CM said that management had taken away the CM's power to do anything about it with the thinking that it would ruin the experience for the guests. BUT, She offered my son and I an immediate run to the front of the line to go again. SCORE!! After we went again I stopped by to thank her and she mentioned that I might want to bring my concerns to the attention of the folks at Town Hall with the idea that if enough people complain that they would give the CMs the power to enforce the rule back again. So I did. The Town Hall CM's were very nice, listen to my story, and then gave me a Fast Pass for any ride in the park for the next days use. SCORE AGAIN!!

So, I guess sometimes it pays to complain about the rude stuff, it might just get you to the front of the line......

BTW - sorry about the long story. pirate:

fzy, no doubt they were just pretending to not understand, if their background is what you assumed...I mean, "no" in Spanish is "no", and "camera" almost exactly the same... So if they didn't know English but did know Spanish, they were just being jerky. Frustrating!

I mean, we were looking at cameras and videocameras at Costco the other day, and DH showed DS how you pull out this screen to see what you're capturing...and right then I said "but not on a ride at Disney, of course", and DS said of course...so if a 6 year old knows that but adults can't figure it out....:headache:

I can understand that the CMs work to prevent rather than reprimand. I saw on Indy and POTC that before leaving the loading station a CM tell guests that they couldn't leave the viewing screen open once and the light once. I was pretty grateful since I was sitting behind these people.

Did you go on Indy again?

PS... I have a good idea what the real concern of people is and know what they are looking for. I never wait in the security line and merge in with a group at the front. I acknowlege the CMs and continue through.

In WDW the process is much faster, I'm not sure why the operation isn't the same, and is worse at DLR.

The line for Bengal BBQ is always soooo slow, and who the heck orders coffee from there anyway? It's a barbeque stand!

I'm glad you didn't lose your temper from all that happening, and the heat, I know a lot of people would.

I hate it when people use flash photography when they aren't supposed to. On the train ride when they go through the diarama? (you know the dinosaur part) they warned ahead of time about no flash photography. Well some yahoo kept taking flash pictures and each time the CM kept saying no falsh photography about 5 times wach time his voice rising in volume and firmness. After the 6th time I yelled "JUST TAKE THE DAMN CAMERA!!" My train car applauded me.

I especially hate it in Pirates of the Carribean right after the boat takes off. The flash sincerely blinds you. So some idiot took a flash picture three times so I decided I was bored and made a big deal of it. I started screaming "MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!" and writhing around in my seat. I didn't see them use a flash again (that or I was truly blinded at that point)

:rotfl: I wish I had thought to do that the numerous times people have taken flash pictures. My friends and I usually issue a harsh "No flash!" to the general boat, doom buggy, etc. and people usually get the hint...but not always. Maybe we'll take your route and be annoying for only a few seconds so people don't have to deal with our hissing every so often.
