Last year, we went to Huntington Beach before going to DLR. We ate at Ruby's on the pier and greatly enjoyed it! I think that I saw a Ruby's near the Character Warehouse. Is my memory correct? Is it as good as the one in HB?
We are going in Oct. and arriving in afternoon. We were planning on starting at the Character Warehouse and thought maybe Ruby's would be good for a late lunch.

Are you talking about the Character Warehouse in Fullerton? Bc the diner-esque place across the Warehouse there is the drive-in, Sonics . I absolutely love Sonics!

There is a Ruby's in Fullerton at 1301 South Harbor Blvd. If you go to Rubys.com you can check out the locations. We loved the one in Huntington Beach too!

Yes, it's on the southwest the corner of Harbor and Orangethorpe, roughly caddy-corner from In-N-Out, and a block west of the Warehouse. I think it's as good as HB, but of course there's no ocean view.

As far as the food goes, I have never had a bad meal at Ruby’s. Very good food and totally family friendly.

Thank you much for the info! I'm glad to hear that it is good, too! I will miss the ocean view though.

The Rubys near the character warehouse is nice but I don't believe it has the model train running up above like they do in I think Carlsbad. Also, in Jan of '07 and '05 they had a free kids meal night. I'm thinking it was Tuesdays. I'm hopeing they still have that deal.

You might be thinking of the Ruby's in San Juan Capistrano, which is near the SJC Amtrak station. The Fullerton Ruby's has a bumper car as its centerpiece, perhaps appropriate for being on the corner of a busy intersection. ;)

My husband agrees that the one in Carlsbad (not far from legoland) has a model train running around the restaurant above your heads. My kids thought it was pretty fun to watch. A nice distraction while waiting for the food.

Cool - that's two Ruby's with a train theme. I see that the Carlsbad Ruby's is near the Carlsbad "Coaster" commuter station, so it all makes sense.
