Rsvp

my date is a month before my wedding. bad idea. it should have been a month and a half or even more...

Our wedding is January 19 and I asked them to respond by January 1st. At the time this seemed like a good idea, but my planner needed a "pretty good count" for the final budget about 30 days out. I had a pretty good idea, but I still have a few that are wish-washy. I assumed they were coming, but it meant adding another table. My advice would be for 30 days early if you can...

I sent my invitations out in mid-october with my RSVP date being November 30th. Good thing too, I've spent the whole month trying to figure out who is "really" coming. Our final payment is due January 5th for our February 4th wedding. I think the earlier, the better. Gives you more time to hunt people down and ask them why they don't think it's important to actually RSVP. (I'm not bitter at all.)

Mine is almost 2 months in advance... Wedding is Jan 26 and RSVP by Dec 1. It worked out pretty well, but I'd suggest even earlier if you can. People think they're too good to RSVP and its quite a chore to track everything down.

Yes! I did 2 months as well - Dec. 1 for my Feb. 4 wedding. And, like the others, I still haven't heard back from everyone and it's nearly a month past the deadline! Of course, if you make the date too early, people may not know their plans yet. It's incredible to me that some of my guests still haven't booked their hotels at 5 weeks out...

Ok great, I think I'll do a little over 2 months, just so I don't stress out as much. Thanks for all your help!
